US reaches $7.2 million gambling ad agreement

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's website, Sporting News, has reached a $7.2 million settlement with the US Government's Department of Justice after it ran advertisements for online gambling sites. Under the agreement, Allen's site must surrender $4.2 million in ad revenues and run $3 million of anti-gambling advertisements over the next three years.

No surprise from the current Administration. Just think, $4.2 million, that should cover the National debt for, what, about 65 seconds? And the bonus being anti-gambling ads from Microsoft (how many kids will this reach?) for three years! Proud to be an American? I think not.

Actually, this was covered in Casinomeister's News in January. But I had forgotten about it, and the ATE reported on it today. First day back from vacation and I'm in a time warp :D
