U.S. HORSE RACING QUICK TO DEPLOY THE INTERNET

Legislative carve-outs open the way for more horse betting

According to press releases distributed through PRWeb this week, sections of the horse racing business in the USA have been quick to urge Americans to use the Internet for their betting and racing information.

TVG.com, website for TVG Interactive Horseracing, "...the interactive home for online gambling, betting and wagering on Horseracing" is offering a six month free membership to all new subscribers to TVG.com. Just log on and join!

New members of TVG.com will have access to a range of features including Live Video from horse tracks, Horse Race Replays, Odds and Results, Handicapping and picks from the TVG experts.

As part of the free six month membership, horseracing fans can watch live video from their favourite horse tracks including Hollywood Park, Belmont Park, Aqueduct, Arlington Park, Meadowlands, Keeneland, Monmouth Park and more.

Whether watching live horse race video or race replays, horseracing fans can "...watch video on their computers 24 hours a day," the release boasts.

"TVG.com members get daily picks and handicapping information from the experts. TVG.com features the best handicappers in the horseracing industry and their picks are sure to help horseracing fans make the best online gambling picks. TVG.com's handicaps and picks will surely be a benefit to your horseracing bets," it continues.

There's a loyalty program, too: "TVG Wager Rewards Program is proud to reward its members with our Wager Rewards program. Earn valuable points every time you place a bet. Points are redeemable for both Wagering Credits and great merchandise."

TVG Interactive Horseracing, the official TV and Interactive Wagering partner of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) and a subsidiary of Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc., is the most widely distributed horseracing network in the world, the release claims. "TVG viewers in certain areas can wager interactively on races via telephone, the Internet, TVG Mobile or Interactive Television by establishing a wagering account online at TVG.com."

Old News!

Just a note on this. Internet betting on horse racing has been around since the casinos. I know. I play the ponies. I joined the site that I play on in 1996. I still have my old DOS discs I first had to install it with to log into the site! .

Talk about two faced issues.....I will stick with the ponies until they get their act together or remove them being allowed to be bet online too. The scare I had over the Kentucky Derby was downright frightful for I thought to my self.."OH no"! Now they are after my ponies!!! But, they haven't banned it yet, thank goodness! :D

Anyone surprized by what jetset reported?

I would have been surprized if Horse Racing and BINGO did not expand in the current environment... I mean they now have an open field with none of that overseas competition...
