UK unfair election system - to vote or not to vote...

With the General Election less than 3 weeks away millions of Britons will have to decide; to vote or not to vote...

Unfortunately we are stuck in the dark ages with an archaic system which is totally stupid and unfair.

For example, if someone living where I am fully supports the Liberal Democrats, but above all else wants to see the Labour Government kicked out they probably realise the best thing to do is vote Conservative...
That's because in this constituency last time the result was:-
Labour; 42.1%
Conservative; 37.4%
Liberal; 15.1%

It would take a relatively small swing to the Conservatives to remove the Labour MP, but a fricking enormous swing to the Liberals to achieve the same result.

This just makes my blood boil - what's the fricking point in voting unless you support one of the top 2 parties in your area?

It stinks and is the same here in the US. The worse part is you always seem to just be settling for lesser of 2 evils or in this case 3. You really want #1 but he's not strong enough to win so you vote for the other guy in hopes of keeping the 3rd guy out. But please keep voting anyway ?? I wonder does the percentage of votes needed to win change depending on the number running? anyway good luck with your election.

To quote George Carlin, with whom on this topic I heartily agree:

“I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.
