With the Neteller problems, it seems the US law is also stoping people RECEIVING money from Online casinos. If this is so, is it reasonable to believe that NON US citizens receiving cheques or otherwise in US Dollars from Online casinos to will get caught up in the mess?- or is that extreme and not possible?

What are your opinions?

I would find a casino/poker room that is willing to send money via Western Union. It's the best option right now IMO.

Bodog is one such place....I hope others post WU friendly casinos as well.

And AFAIK, ACH withdraws are going smoothly so far *knock on wood*

Likely.

Quite likely. Neteller cannot process some withdrawals from Neteller US Dollar accounts regardless of where the client is located. It may be that banks that are offshoots of the big American banks will turn down Dollar cheques from online casinos even for UK customers. There should not be a problem with the home grown UK banks though, although there will be exchange fees.

I ran the same question by my online casino operator and they have sent me a comprehensive reply stating that there will be no problem, especially as the money is being converted into home currency to a home bank- it only effects U.S citizens.

They also state that if you play your account to zero and then ask that it be converted to home currency, thay can do that for and Euro.

I never ever believed that U.S Dollar would become a worrying currency to deal with- just shows how Government can be so damaging in such a short period of time.

Best of luck to our U.S friends and I hope some solution is sorted for you sometime soon.

I have been badly burnt using a casino that works in $. Put in 300 and it converted it $. Played and won 40 and withdrew. Got a $ cheque and by the time I had paid it in it was worth 304.00. The casino ripped me of for about 7% and LloydsTSB another 15.

I only play at casinos that work totally in sterling now.
