Received this in my inbox today. These politicians continue to attack the U.S. online gaming industry. Any U.S. citizens here in the States can take action by writing their Congress representatives.
He’s at it again! Utah Representative Jason Chaffetz reintroduced his bill that would prohibit online poker, along with other forms of online betting. H.R. 707, should it become law, would undo what Congress has already authorized and strip states of their 10th Amendment right to regulate online INTRAstate poker sites within their own borders, including the online poker markets already established in Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware.
Last Congress, this same bill failed to pass, but mega political campaign donor and Las Vegas casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson is doubling down and using his influence in the new Republican-controlled House and Senate to make sure the legislation is reintroduced and considered this Congress.
Your member of Congress is key in stopping future federal prohibition bills from being implemented. Please contact via Twitter and email to urge him/her not to support legislation that discriminates against your ability to play on regulated poker sites.
Thanks in advance for your help.
