yesterday my daughter got her paycheck.

she has been putting in 14 hour days and this was her frist day off in i think 7 days.

she went to the bank and cashed her check and then went to wal-mart with her little sister and got us all gifts she such a sweetheart:)

then she went to the $ store to get her sister something and i guess in leaving she droped her wallet on the sidewalk.

she came home and gave me my gift and about an hour 1/2 later she went to get her money to pay some things.

and she could,nt find it we tore the whole house apart and just could not find it and it had almost 500$ in it.

my heart felt like it was being torn apart i flet so bad for her that was so much money and she had worked so hard for it and would not get paid again for 2 weeks.

i called the $ store and was told no one had turned in anything.

after looking for over 1 hour maybe longer she went to her room and layed down on her bed.

i kept looking and then i tought maybe she had lift it on top of her car and if i drive down to the store i might see it the hope of getting it back was very low.

so i drove down there with my 2 babys and i must have looked like a sight digging thought the trash can holding my little one with my 4 old by my side

thinking maybe they took the money but put the wallet in the trash.

but there was nothing in there so i thought i would go in and ask one more time if someone had turned in anything so i did.

they told me yes someone had turned a wallet in but i had to tell them what it looked like and i kept saying the wrong thing so i went home and got my daughter and was parying the whole time please let it be hers i thought what r the odds of two people losing their wallets on the same day at the same store.

she went in and came out about 5 mins later and got in the car i asked her if it was hers and she said yes now came the big ? was all the money in it and guess what all 469$ was in it.

someone had turned it in without taking any of the money that she worked so hard for.

i thank god and asked him to bless the person who had turned it in and started crying i was so happy.

there is still good honest people lift in the world and i just wanted to let other people know that.

and wanted to send a big big thank you to the person who turned it in god bless you. you don,t know how happy you made a mom and her daughter:thumbsup:

yes i went back down there yesterday to see if they knew who the person was and found out my daughter had lift it on the floor by the candy mec.

you have to be on your toes when you have your 4 year old sister with you and she talks non stop pointing out everything she would like to get lol.

they told me they did,nt know who turned it in just that it was an older lady and i ask them if they ever see her again to tell her we said thank you and god bless.

you know in the world today it so easy to see all the bad and miss the good that is still there sitting quietly on the side lines waiting for us to notice it.

and if we,er very very lucky we have a person or event that will stop us in our tracks and show us the good that is still there.

and you know what i say to that thank god for people like that they give us back the hope and faith that sometimes gets lost in the bad and makes our heart laugh with the joy of it.:)

You know that brings tears to my eyes I remembering now when my son was 10 months old and i had like this larger type wallet he had grabbed it and beings I was food shopping wasnt even paying attention, that was my fault, anyway we were walking through the store and when I got to the register I couldnt find my wallet and I was frantic everything we had was in it, we me and my husband walking up and down evey isle in a panic, well when we got by the meat department at the end of the isles a woman and man elderly were there they saw us in a panic and came over and said is this yours omg everything was still in it and I was so greatful to these wonderful people I hugged them and thanked them I think for at least 10 minutes. Also 1 time my sister and I went to a store and this woman left her pocket book in the cart, I tried runnung after her but could not catch her so I wouldnt even open it I turned it in to courtesy desk. That is what I will always do return everything in tact as that is what a nice couple did for me even if that didnt happen I still would do it. We have to look out for each other I believe. Kauphy thank you for reminding me of the good in the world and thank you for the post.

Gosh this is so weird. Last week at my sons football game, my husband and I were standing by the boys while they were practicing. We could here the commotion. We were about to see what they were up to 15 boys in a group never a good thing(lol) when I saw my son holding a wallet. I told my husband to wait and said lets see what he does. We waited about 5 min and my son walked over to us and said Dad i found this who give it too. We took and asked DID you take any of the money in it? He said no the guys wanted me to but I know its not right. That's why I came to you. I looked at my hubby and said you know how you always say you never feel like your doing a good job of parenting. Well i think we did something right this time. I was proud that he didn't listen to the other kids and did what he knew was right.

PS lost 2nd playoff game - out of championship but had a lot of fun.

when i was younger i had my purse with everything in it my birth cet my lic my s.s.card caz i was,nt living at home at the time i had to carrie everything with me.

i was at a church and my purse came up missing. i never did get it back.

years later i had to have someone pull up my s.s.n and two people came up one me and the other lady going by the same name with the same s.s.n living about 25 miles away in anoughter city where i had never lived. the lady thought it was very odd and said she would look into it but i never found out what happened with it. but i think maybe she is the one who took my purse from church and started going under my name.

i have also found 2 purses.

one was in a store i was in found it just sitting right at the self check out reg.
did,nt even open it up just took it to cs and gave it to the lady.

also my mom and i found one at a thrift store it was in the stuff we had gotten outside and when we got home we were going thought the stuff and when we opened the purse there was a wallet and all kinds of stuff in it.
we went thought the wallet and found a lic and medicien in it no money or anything like that but we call the number on one of the pill bottels and guess what the lady that answered said it was her purse and that someone had stolened it and she was,nt worried about the money just needed her medicine that was in it. she was so happy its a good feeling when you can do something like that for someone.

as that movie says play it forwards:)

its my belief that most gamblers [not all] but most have a high regard and respect for honesty

and god bless the person that turned in the wallet and god bless your daughter for being a hard working considerate person

I'm so glad there was a happy ending to your daughter's story!

I once found an envelope with money on the floor at a checkout. The woman in front of me said she didn't drop it. I gave the cashier my phone number if someone came back to look for it, and I did get a call and the caller was able to tell me what was in it. They came by later that evening and got it.

I'm an awful cynic, but if I'm gonna return money, I want to make sure it's returned to the right person.

If I found a wallet full of money I would go have it all converted into Yen and then return it. I wouldn't dream of stealing from anyone but I really don't mind screwing with them.
