The week from hell

OK... so this will eventually be gambling related, just bear with me or move on....LOL (*warning* There is some moderate foul language below, so children, cover your eyes...)

Early in the week, I find out my 2 year old vehicle needs major warranty work done on it (taking a 'few days' of repair work), but they can't get to it 'for a couple of weeks'.

Then one day I come home from work to find a note from my termite man that one of the bait stations showed 'activity' and I can't get anyone at the termite place to call me back.

Then I get a safety recall letter on my other car (3 years old) - 'don't panic, the steering hasn't locked up or fallen off and killed anyone yet, we're just doing this to protect our asses' kind of thing.

And work has me fit to be tied - a part ordered for an elderly couple's central heating & air unit suddenly isn't in stock but had to come from the factory (we're talking 2 or 3 weeks here) and it's supposed to be in the 30's next week. Today we get a letter from the IRS about some screw up with a 1099 form (from 2 or 3 years ago) - which required digging thru 3 years worth of files just to halfway figure out WTF they were talking about since we don't require 1099's in the first place... And I couldn't reach the contractor that caused the screw up in the first place. There's more but I won't bore you any further...

That should give you an idea....

Anyway... tonight I popped open a brew, sat down at the computer and proceeded to deposit somewhere to play.... or at least I tried to.... Two different type cards and neither will work at any of my usual casinos where the cards have previously always worked. *dammit*

I've had weeks like that too. Months even. Each thing that happens is one more straw on that poor camel and one day someone will forget to bring you cream for your coffee or bump into you accidentally and you'll go all terminator on their ass and cause a big overreacting scene and everyone will look at you like you're a dangerous lunatic. Well that's the way it happens to me anyhow...

And everyone, remember...next time someone bites your head off for some trivial thing, be nice to them - it might be Mousey.

Chayton... funny you should mention that... I was about ready to go postal on the girl at the burger drive thru after work. Evidently I didn't say 'NO I don't want fries with that' enough times to register with her - and got handed a burger AND fries anyway.

If it's any comfort we get the same here, would you like fries with that? On a similar not so great day, I responded, if I wanted fries I ask for bloody fries! 5 or so minutes later felt kinda bad for saying it. Immediately following that came the epiphany, I'm having a crap day but having to repeat that question hour after hour, shone some sunlight in, the burger by that stage was lukewarm

Wow, that sounds like my last month. I woke up at my annual work convention with a swelled up face and a abscessed tooth, had to go to the dentist and have it removed pronto. Missed working 22 hours of overtime, money down the tubes.

The dentist took x-rays the following week during the check up and found 4 of my other back teeth were infected/erupted and I had to go in a week later and have all 4 pulled. (I remember nothing of that trip - good drugs).

I wake up from my drug enforced stupor to the mail my husbands been piling on the counter to an IRS envelope that says "You owe us $1540 pronto because you screwed up your 2011 taxes".

Oh, and during this time the Harley broke down and was in the shop as we awaited whatever the heck it was gonna cost.

I was ready to jump off a bridge.

And my service engine soon light has been on for 3 weeks now.



Oh oh oh! AND I just deposited at CWC and it timed out, took my money from my bank account but didn't put it in my casino account...

I say we BOTH hibernate and come back out next month to much better luck, yes???

Just in case anyone is wondering how things are going since my original post....

My two year old vehicle that needed major warranty repairs is now in the shop. I took it last week as per their request. Talked to the service dept. yesterday.... it's still just sitting in their parking lot. They haven't even touched it yet. At least they gave me a nice loaner to drive. A 2013 GMC Terrain - leather heated seats, back up camera, more buttons and doodads than my computer... all very nice... but it's so big I can hardly get in and out, and my poor 88 year old mom... takes her pulling and me pushing to get her in.

OH! and yesterday they call me and tell me I HAVE to bring the loaner back to them for just a few minutes tomorrow so they can put new tag stickers on, because the one on the vehicle now expires end of the month. Yeah... I'll just run it right down there....

(both of these car dealers I'm dealing with are 35 miles away - 70 mile round trip, btw)

My 3 year old car with the factory safety recall? Took it to the dealer who inspected it and said it is perfectly safe to drive, and they'll call me sometime in the first quarter of next year when the manufacturer sends them the parts. oh.... yay?

And I have been looking at vehicles thinking to trade them both in on one and.... that has all come to standstill... meanwhile, my vehicles are losing trade-in value with every day that passes.

The termite thing? good thing is, looks like they have not invaded my house, but upgrading my 'protection' cost me a couple hundred extra bucks. *sigh* (Sounds to me like they needed extra holiday money. )

Work... the older couple that needed a part for their central a/c unit .... They got so disgusted waiting on the part they got someone else to put a new system in for them. Those folks have been our customers for more than 20 years. The part we were waiting on arrived UPS yesterday.

Supposedly the IRS/1099 form screw up has been taken care of, but our tax lady has yet to hear back from the IRS on it, so who knows?


And this morning, I deposited at JC, and then the casino just froze up. Tried exiting and going back in and it won't budge....

I think I'll just go back to bed....
