The 2010 Kentucky Derby is only 6 days away and has been known to produce some very nice payouts including last years winner "Minethatbird" who paid $102 for a $2 bet. The horse that everyone considered to be the huge favorite in this years Derby 'Eskendereya" has been scratched due to a foot injury so it looks like we might have another big payer again.

The official Post Position draw and odds will be held on Wednsday April 28th, 2010 but most books are offering an early advanced line and here are the odds as of now. These odds are based on a $100 bet

I am hoping to get 10-1 on "Ice Box" that would be a very nice price to get so i will be making an early wager on him and might even be able to get a little better then that on Derby day.

Any horse handicappers out there like anything yet?

good question

I really have no idea. Picking horses is very very hard. But Iv'e followed your other picks and Tony T you are on a roll at picking winners :notworthy keep up the good work :) I'm loving the Capitals in game 7 vs Canada what do you think????:)

Well, I love the Kentucky Derby. I'll take your pick of IcePick with Super Saver for the boxed exacta bet. Maybe one with Lucky and Super Saver as well.

Last year one of my buddies hit large on the exacta:thumbsup: The OTB is at my neighbourhood pub, and it's sure to be a lively time.

Sounds like fun! Can someone please suggest an online site where US players can make a wager? I've never joined a sportsbook cuz I'd be crazy to bet football and basketball n stuff but I might make a Derby bet! Good luck, all, and thanks for posting your picks!

My dad used to go every year. We are in Massachusetts. I went one time, but didn't go to the derby, I stayed with friends of ours. Oh how I wish I would have went now, being older. I was young then, who wants to go to the derby. lol

Horses are hard to bet on, greyhounds are easier. :D

As a diehard sportsfan there are just a few sporting events we all should go see.

There are some really good and trustworthy books that are taking bets on the Derby.

Thanks! Forgot I already have a Bodog account. I get BetUs booklets in the mail every week? month? but sportsbetting's not my thing so I forgot Bodog was an option. lol. But it'll be fun to lay off a lil sumpin-sumpin on the Derby f'shizzle!

But how can you not include Tyson getting his ass slid across the ring by Buster Douglas, that was one that I think will stick out in everyone's memory...:D

Tyson-Douglas was in Toyko and I was not present. The two I mentioned that I attended were both at Caesar's Palace,;)......BTW, I have attended 3 Super Bowls of which one was in your stomping ground ,XXXIV.

I'm please to report that my place bet on Super Saver (4) paid quite nicely :), although neither of my Exacta picks of Icebox/Super Saver or Looking at Lucky/Super Saver left me in the money.

Oh, and for a major sporting event, I think you could add a Grand Prix race or the Daytona 500.

I know you had Super Saver to place, if you would have boxed your picks, SuperSaver and Ice box you would have gotten $170 for a $2 bet.

I guess we can't complain when we cash a ticket though.
