Feel free to post your grooviest jazz tunes.

Here's Art Pepper from one of his later albums... playing as soulfully as the best of the African-Americans, following years of incarceration due to his heroin habit... what a tragic waste of a remarkable talent.

The Summer Knows (1976) from Art's album 'The Trip' on the Contemporary label.

Art Pepper, alto sax; George Cables, piano; David Williams, bass; Elvin Jones, drums.

... and here is the title track 'The Trip'

Best played with the volume cranked up to the max. :)

Continuing the laid back theme, here's Pete La Roca - Lazy Afternoon from his album 'Basra' on Blue Note (1965)

Joe Henderson, tenor sax; Steve Kuhn, piano; Steve Swallow, bass; Pete La Roca, drums.

Just need to add, these tunes come across as a bit dreary on a low bit youtube clip. To really appreciate their beauty, one needs to hear the full lossless version on a proper hi-fi set-up. :)

All star cast on this Miles Davis classic album 'Kind of Blue' from 1959 on Columbia.

Miles on trumpet, Cannonball Adderley on alto, Coltrane on tenor, Bill Evans on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Jimmy Cobb on drums.

Miles Davis Sextet - Flamenco Sketches (alt take)

Melancholy but beautiful:
