Never heard of him but reading the comments below the video he seems to have been an early version of manufactured pop?

Here's my ultimate crush from when I was a nipper

Let's kill those mothersuckers

I've been drining, so starting a conversation with an inflammatory statement sounds good to me.

I'm glad to have warmer weather, I truly am.

But some kind of unidentifiable moth probably nested last fall, and I feel overrun. The weather has warmed up, and they have hatched and fly around my house. They are not pantry moths or clothing moths, and apparently my downstairs tenant had issues with them last summer but neglected to mention it.

They are itsy bitsy, less than a quarter of an inch, so very hard to swat, and don't seem to land on surfaces much. Except me sometimes in bed, or buzz out of reach in front of my TV.

With the significant loss of site in my one eye, my depth perception is off, and I have a hard time even clapping them. And so small, even when you do, they may escape a fatal blow.

Not looking for answers, but I'll gladly take suggestions. Just droppin in at the local to have another drink and a bit of a bitch.

I hope you have not been sat there since mid April waiting for service?

I tried to take a picture of the most beautiful Moth a few days ago which resembled a very small Hummingbird. It flew off just as I was switching from "Selfie" <-- My daughters fault , to normal mode :sob:

What do you do out of the ordinary when you find your by yourself for a change of an evening?
Personally,I am going to start of the evening by getting out in the garden to pick up the cat shit that they have kindly deposited amongst the poppies and other flowers :sniper:

I go on the CM Bar & Grill thread

Oh and I did the washing up earlier. Almost broke me.

Withdrawal symptoms!

Ok, big life change happening for me now!

In the next couple of days, we are to commit to buying a static caravan on a lovely holiday site on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. Big expense and big monthly outgoings trying to pay the annual site fee, running costs and finance, but aim to rent it out to cover some of the costs.

Was this possible last year? Hell no as I was in debt. Fast forward with a few and consistent wins at the casinos here, I got out of debt and put some money aside, which has now been used as a deposit for the caravan.

What does this mean? Well, until monthly outgoings settle down, I won't be able to play the slots like I used to in fear of losing. I've had a good streak of late (I see it as withdrawing funds deposited over previous years!), but losing will be a lot more severe as consequences would be worse.

I will still have a nominal flutter each week, just in case my winning streak continues, but alas it is time to bite the bullet and put money into a family holiday home.

I thought I would have issues with playing less, but so far so good! Perhaps this is why I am in a bar now as I need a stiff one to settle my nerves!

PS, anyone want to rent a holiday home in Kent for competitive rates?!?!?

What better place to go to pick peoples brains about gardening that in a pub over a few sherbets?
I took over an allotment this year. One of the crops left behind where Strawberries which I've been picking over the past few days. I have also been picking Strawberries that we have grown in the back garden. The ones in the back garden staying beautiful for up to 5 days after picking but the allotment ones are rotting within an hour of picking.
My issue is that they are giving off a fermenting stench within an hour of being picked so I have decided to make jam and coulis with them. After cooking they are still giving off a fermenting aroma. Are they edible and will it effect their preservation?
Next year I am going to dig the allotment ones up and plant the runners from my back garden.

Has anyone any advice?

Maybe Strawberry wine with the rest that I pick from the allotment?

My mom has a gigantic patch of wild strawberries and I found myself in a similar situation just two weeks ago. Ugh! So much time spent gathering those precious tiny strawberries! You're absolutely right in that they don't last but a moment and seem to protest to being plucked from their home. We stemmed and washed ours and then froze them immediately. It just isn't possible to put them aside until such time as it would take to gather enough fruit for a full batch of preserves.

I can't think of any other reason aside from there being some overly ripened strawberries as the cause to the fermenting aroma? I would definitely go with the hooch option based on this information. I mean, the strawberries themselves seem to be telling you that this is the direction to go! lol Good Luck!!!

Very sorry Kelly,I have only just read your reply.
Back in the days of of the gentry the masters of the house would order their servants to go pick a pint of those tiny wild strawberries. When there where a number of folk to eat them that would take a long time.
I found out a probable reason why the Strawberries began fermenting so quickly after picking. Some varieties of Strawberries do begin fermenting very quickly after picking if they are picked while they are still warm from the days sun. These are best to be left alone until the early hours of the day when they are at their coolest- Being picked while warm very quickly leads to them fermenting and softening
I am going to dig up those in the allotment and replace them next year with the runners from my gardens Strawberries as they are much hardier as well as bigger and sweeter

I learned some interesting stuff recently:

CM Related
Germany has very bad internet in comparison to the rest of the 1st world.
It's also a world leader in terms of solar energy. I've been very interested in solar energy lately.
Australia is also right up there, most of my neighbors have solar.

Other stuff
Anyone know about Elon Musk?
I only recently learned about him. He has an interesting theory about reality being a simulation. So what if it is a simulation? What does that change? When I first heard him say that, I thought he was eccentric. I also think his idea about underground car tunnels is a bit eccentric.
Musk also claims to be going to Mars because he likes the adventure. But, I suspect his real reason is to confirm if there's any life on Mars.

My opinion on Musk; he has my respect for his work in solar energy and electric cars. But his other ideas just stink!

I never knew that there were such things as ethical investors.

I always thought that a lot of reality was dependent on perception.

I will have to check out the documentary another day before commenting more

I thought I'd just drop by and say hiya, as I am trying to drink enough cold boring Canadian beer (hey, boring is not all bad) tonight to get to sleep at a reasonalble hour and convince my body is is not 3:15 in the afternoon to overcome my jetlag.

I will have a look at the Elon Musk documentary. I know enough to know he is a brilliant man, but I think he may suffer from some kind of mental illness as well, as many brilliant people do, and some not quite as brilliant. Just not today.

Bars remain one of my favourite places to engage in conversation always, and here's to those who stop in to have a beer and post a song or bring up a point of discussion.

Cheers,
Jazzy

I'm heading down to the bar today, I'm probably not going to drink though.
The documentary is not about Elon Musk. It's about an ethical investor called Bill Ackman and a shady company called Herbalife.

Alcohol may send you to sleep, but only for an hour or two then you will be up, anxious, dehydrated and will find it difficult to get back to sleep.

That's my experience anyway (which is often lol).

I watched this yesterday with my girls but I have not been able to get one thing out of my mind so I have posted the below just now in facebook.

It was very sad to see a very old man with breathing apparatus up his nose being given a chair and assistance outside the entrance to the door which we had just came from. It was at the cinema where we had just watched Dunkirk and the guy had obviously just revisited some very raw emotions :( Fantastic movie.

What movies do you recommend? Should we start a new thread about movies?

As I can not post in a closed thread I just want to say that I liked the Meisters last post to that ranter. But I do fear for those who have got to the stage where they rant with such venom because they most probably have hit the bottom with their problems.

Wouldn't fret about it. He was just a troll, and a low-skilled one at that. If it wasn't obvious from the opening post it certainly became clear at the end.

Kind of weak effort overall, I'd give him 4/ 10 :thumbsup:
