You both probably never been to Russia, some great vodkas to be found there. Stoli (from Russia) and GG (originally from France) are not bad but especially the latter one a pretty hyped brand. Stoli was very popular in the former Eastern bloc, you would be the center of attention if you arrived with a Stoli at a party.

Spent tons of time in Russia (previous job) and my agent there was previously an official vodka inspector, that job really exists. And he gave me the first time Russian Standard Platinum Vodka. This was a decade before they started promoting and selling it outside Russia.

Never had anything else since. Never any headaches or hangover the next day.

Make sure it is the Platinum version.

My Russian guy wouldn't touch the normal one. I might add i haven't had a vodka in some 8 years now but plenty in my younger years.

This morning I had to wake up with some raw System of a Down sounds but now driving home I will settle for something more relaxing.
