The 2016/2017 football season predictor thread

Stuttgart @ 6/10
Tottenham @ 2/5
Lazio @ 1/2
St Etienne @ 5/6
Yeni Malatyaspor @ 3/4
Ajax @ 2/13
Lyon @ 1/5
Manchester Utd @ 3/4
Anderlecht @ 8/11
Athletic Bilbao @ 1/2
Gent @ 2/5

pays about 92-1

A short priced treble for today on horses (roughly 12-1), Just Cameron is probably the strongest, his form is good, and Hammond rarely sends horses to Ireland, so can't see him making the trip for nothing, only runner there today (in fact anywhere today) too. Will possibly stick a single on later when the market is a little better.

Sir Antony Browne @ 11/10
15.30 Fontwell

Any Second Now @ 1/1
15.50 Naas

Just Cameron @ 15/8
16.20 Naas

I may also do a first goalscorer double on Ibrahimovic and Kane, plus add a couple of others in an anytime scorer 4 or 5 fold later when I've had more time to look at the form etc. I think Man Utd are easily going to win this game, and should be half the odds they are.

11 wins, 2 draws and 1 got beat :(

If I where to do a 14 game accumulator they would all have to have pretty short odds. Its going to be even more tricky now the seasons getting on because so many teams have so much to fight for.
What do you think the chances are of Sunderland staying up,or are you resigned to being relegated ?

Edit. I'm just checking my Gee gee selections for today now.

Dont mention 14 game accas to me.
Must be over ten years ago, a workmate and me used to go to bookies on a Saturday dinner.
Quid each on a 5 match one and a quid share on a mad one.
Fa cup weekend.
13 matches correct.
Bloody Rotherham drew against Emley Moor.
Gutted.
Was the lowest odds on it all but still bumps winnings up when you got that many matches.
Around 14 grand we would have won

I recall going to Catterick races back in about 1990 with a work party and I was just about the only one who knew about putting bets on etc. I ended up sticking bets on of my choice for a load of women as well as sticking a few bets of my choice for my then housemate. I managed to win bundles for us all. But as a student I had little money of my own so I couldn't afford big bets otherwise I could have won much more than I did. I can still name quite a few of those winners

Well got some profit from today, staked £60, £168 return from the first goalscorer double, got anytime scorers to come too, Lancazette (Lyon) is the only one letting me down, for about another £100, but in profit now so doesn't really matter, although obviously if he scores it would be better :D

nice wee £100 back from a tenner soon.

Took William Hills money back special. 23+ corners 7+ goals and 9+ cards on the spurs and man u games. Its the one where one correct gives £10 free bet. 2 gives £20 free bet all 3 correct gives £100 for tenner bet.

Pity Man Utd blew 2 goal lead as its beating my 5 team acca but least i get stake back as free bet tomorrow.

It was a great cup final but i feel gutted for Southampton because they deserved to win IMO.

Rooney looked fat

Rooney didnt play but held the cup up wearing captains armband.

Good thing as well for Man Utd fans is, they didnt have far to walk home after the match

Ooooh, clenchy buttocks time for Newcastle this week.

Brighton on Tuesday, refereed by a Huddershite Town dog bothering fan lol.

Then Huddershite at the weekend and Reading a week on Tuesday.

In all honesty we should be winning the league by about 15 points given the money spent and quality of the squad. I sometimes think that we pay too much for our players because top players simply don't want to be in the north east and prefer the likes of bloody Watford in London :(

With £70.92 left in my kitty my £5 accumulator today is on Leicester,Stoke,Watford,West Brom,Wigan and Villa. Paddy Power pays £830.85.

Maybe I should start opting for "sure things" for the rest of the season?
My on TV Canadian today is Newbury 2.05 Loose Chips Newbury 2.40 Bloody Mary 315 Oldgrangewood DDon 1.50 Seafood 2.25 Kafgary .

I'm late but I was stuck rotavating

Bet you glad you didnt back the scummy's.

How the hell we won that last night I dont know.
After Birmingham equalised I thought that would be it and we would get a pasting, they were by far the better side.
But we took the chances when we had them.

Tonight I shall be cheering on the toon to stuff the dog botherers

It was a good result for Leeds. As I've said I think they deserve to be in the Prem given how big their support is.

Its a good night for me what with the toon game then the Hayes fight which will then set me up nicely for a deposit somewhere and a few Voddies :D

And that must be nearly bye bye Wenger... :)
Leaving Sanchez out in the starting 11, his best midfielder... :lolsign:

Wenger will probably be viewed as one of the best ever Premier division managers of all time. I can't see him being at Arsenal next season. With his success and money why put himself through proving himself elsewhere?

Did anyone watch the Haye - Bellow's fight? Damn Haye was brave carrying on from so early in with an achilles injury. Then he never mentioned the injury during the after fight interviews. I think it was because he got so much shit after blaming injuries in the past when he was defeated.
I think he would have decked Bellow easily if it wasn't for that. He could be crippled due to fighting on.
Right. ChanceHill will have a deposit now while I pour another Vodka and my better half can wait until at least mid afternoon tomorrow before I deal any more rookie bloody soldiers work in the garden :D

A bit of a weird one, but theres nowhere else really to put these, maybe we should start a general betting thread where we can put horses and other stuff?

Cycling

Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 1
Tirreno-Adriatico | Wednesday 8th March 2017 | 12:00

BMC 6/5 with Skybet is completely wrong, they should be around 4-6. In fact if you check betfair exchange most the money has been traded at around 1.75. They should easily win this, obviously don't blindly lump on, do a bit of research first, but I've got a few quid on ;)

Next week in the Fred Winter, Prospectus 20/1, that price will most likely half when the jockey bookings are made known. Opportunity to lay off for a profit or free bet.

All the right noises being made for Sweet as a Nut in the Foxhunters too (16/1 with Coral and Billyhills)

Hey Col feel free to start a thread something along the lines of "The sports betting thread". I'm not precious about any thread that I start. We can stick our horses of the day there or whatever
I'm looking forward to Cheltenham next week, although my eldest daughter isn't as shes at Uni there. Last year she said was a nightmare for her what with so many pissed up visitors thinking they could proposition students and think that they all have a price

PS. I will keep an eye on the two horses that you mentioned above :)

ok, bit late as the double figure prices are well gone now, I got £20 on yesterday afternoon at 11-1 before the price collapsed in minutes, but Gold Eliza is expected to win the 7.30 at Dundalk tonight, Paddy Powers prices yesterday went like this

16:14 16/1
16:18 11/1
16:23 9/1
16:25 13/2
16:32 5/1

Now around 9/4 :what:

I'm also told My Painter is expected to be placed at least in the same race, opened up 25-1, now as low as 9-1, but 16's still available in places so stuck £10 EW on it and a £5 RFC on the 2 of them. I trust the sources of both bits of info, but I NEVER win at Dundalk or I would have had more on.

Sorry about that one yesterday, was pretty rubbish

My bets for today

the HT/FT one is a weird one, I heard earlier in the week there was something dodgy (ie fixing) going on in one of the games in the Bosnian Premier League this weekend, but I didn't know which one. Someone has posted on reddit its this one. Now I take reddit posts like this with a pinch of salt, but add it to what I heard earlier in the week, and there 'could' be some truth in it. The HT/FT result is a common bet if this is happening, so I've had a little bet on it in case. Probably won't happen, but if I checked the results and it came in I would kick myself if I didn't have a bet!

Good luck with your bets today Col. I didn't take your tip yesterday :D

My EW Canadian today is Sandown 1:50 Another Venture 3:00 Not Another Muddle 3:35 Redhotfillypeppers and at Wolves 2:05 Nimr 3:15 My Target.

With £65.92 left in my kitty today's £5 accumulator selections are Bournemouth,Everton,Swansea,Huddersfeild,Leeds and Norwich for a return of £489.58 at Paddy Power

Ok, I'll make the effort to share my humble bets today lol, only reason is I got this nagging feeling one or more of these is actually going to come good for once lol.

Both teams to score (end result irrelevant)

Norwich V Blackburn
Preston V Reading
Bristol R V Southend
Fleetwood V Bolton
Colchester V Portsmouth
Mansfield V Plymouth

6 team acca @ £2 - potentially returns £67.22 @ Ladbrokes

Both teams to score (ERI)

Cardiff V Blues
Wigan V Bristol City
MKD V Rochdale
Crewe V Newport
Morecambe V Yeovil
Wycombe V Blackpool

6 team acca @ £2 - potentially returns £64.93

Only doubts I have are Blackpool away from home and Reading who are very erratic

Finally "Results Rush" (where both teams must score)

3 x Home wins for Newcastle, Fleetwood and Carlisle - £1 bet can return £70!

Fingers crossed once again :p

I'll keep my eyes on the results Jono.

More toilet paper betting slips :( - Can't believe F*Kin Fulham

Fulham have been our boggy team for years. We are relying on winning away from home this season because it appears that the players are too nervous to play well at home. Each home game we start off very slugging and wary which allows the away side to be confident.

Fulham do us every bloody year

It's been like this for as long as I can remember.....add to that the massive expectation at St.James's and that we're getting nervous with so few games to go I can see us clinging on for 2nd if I'm being honest

Don't think we'll have a problem scoring in the Prem but boy, that defence!
