The 2016/2017 football season predictor thread

Good Luck Col.

As I only had 0.60p "spare Change" yesterday :o :o, I've gone for a crazy and rare "Shopping List" type bet today.

12 Team Accumulator (Both teams to score, result does not matter) Returns £431.36 for said 0.60p lol.

Me n mate said Wolves would do Liverpool today and could have got 7-1 for them alone, wasted opportunity by the look of things! (Hope I not spoke too soon on that one!)

Wolves 2 up

I think there will be a few upsets today, especially if some teams put out a weakened squad

Well I'm glad I didnt take the piss out of Newcastle

A few shocks this weekend and rightly so, serves them right for making so many changes and having disrespect for one of the greatest cup competitions going.
Yes, by all means throw a couple of youngsters into the game and sub a couple of newbies on as well if you are comfortable to give them some experience of first team football especially when you are playing teams in lower divisions, but ten changes is just ridiculous.
Whether Monk was trying to prove a point to owners I dont know, as he doesnt seem happy about the lack of new players, although seen this morning that Leeds are linked with a Villareal player on loan to but until end of season if get promotion.

Last thing any team wants is a long cup run when going for promotion, but come on, going out to teams like Newcastle, Brighton and Leeds did.
Oh and Wolves beat the bindippers lol.

And I think the clubs should refund peoples money who went to these games.

I guessed there would be a few shocks. The trouble is that there is no longer the big incentives for winning the domestic cup competitions. The fizzy pop cup ( League cup) was never really taken seriously and now the FA Cup is no longer a route to Europe. I am not happy with Newcastle because we should be strong enough to win promotion as well as play the extra 3 games that it takes to get to the final
My money's on Lincoln now

Deadline day today.

Didnt realise Newcastle were after the Villareal player as well.

Wonder how many players Aston Vanilla will try get today to buy the league

I recall watching sky sports news in the final hours of last January and it was frantic with all of speculation of last minute deals. This year was dead. Maybe clubs have came to the conclusion that January is not a good time to bring new players in?

Still buzzin over Wolves result now 2-1 with only 21% possession away from home, great stuff :p

I've just checked what football is available for free online Jono and so far I found nothing for the Burton v Wolves match. But it is early.I have a Toon game link :) I'm streaming the Chelsea game here with the racing on tv. Home alone. BLISS :D

Rofl Mate, same here, Missues took kids to a party thing so I got couple of hours :D :D

Flicked around a few accounts and found a tenner in Loyalty points which I redeemed so having a few 0.09p DOA spins, cure the "rattle" :o

Wouldn't mind watching the Wolves if you do stumble across anything later mate as its a local Derby and the first time the 2 have played each other in the League in Years!!

Edit: This is the first meeting in any competition between Burton and Wolves at the Pirelli Stadium.!!!

It appears that there are no live feeds from Burton today mate. Big result for Chelsea. I'm loving the ITV racing so far because the first of my each way yankee came second and the first two in my yankee have won :p.

Now I've posted that the rest of my horses will be hexed :(

Newcastle v Derby eh. That takes me back to the days of Championship Manager, where me and my Derby-loving mate would compete for top honours.

Problem was he'd edit the Derby squad so whenever I'd pop round his players would have miraculously high attributes that would make Messi blush

Let's hope Newcastle can make amends for my mate's cheating ways! :o

Reminds me of my Subbuteo days where we used to swap players and full teams. I think I had about 16 teams. I was always utter shite with video gaming

Come on Rock the Kasbah each way in the 335 at Sandown to complete my Yankee :D

They say the Premier League is the best in the world, but they ought to rename it the Batshit Crazy WTF League because no one in their right mind can predict these bloody scores

No sane person would have Sunderland 4 up away, or Hull beating Liverpool. This is madness!

I'm never going to win the cursed Super Six at this rate...

HaHa smelly bin dippers

liv.webp

I hate to say it but Huddesrshite deserved to win that.
Was happy to get the draw but wasnt to be.
They are still dog botherers and stink of piss though

But Brighton dropped another 2 points today, think best we can hope for is playoffs

The natural order has resumed at the head of the table :D

I didn't get to watch the game but Brighton's must have been a cracker?

Incidentally. What is the point of the Scottish Premier League?

Are we going to see some banter between you and Jon for next weeks game?

Come on Wolves

Hides from Jon

Ha ha. As they got beat of Burton yesterday I think that we could get a win next week by sending out the same team that we fielded in the FA Cup last weekend. :p

And that "o" on his hand looks more like an arse

LMAO! - Only just spotted this JD mate, sums up about 75% of Wolves fans (myself excluded of course :p)

I think we'll do Newcastle maybe 4-0, possibly 5-0. Bookies only offering evens on those scores so probs give a bet a miss too :)

Edit: For a cheeky little bet (not doing it myself tho lol) 4 matches (1x Championship, 1x League One, 2 x League 2) 4 x Away Win ;)

I found £2 in a online bookie the other day.

I did a 12 match one other day for a laugh
Got 8 of them up, 3 out of the 4 I lost on where teams you thought they would have won, glad they didnt TBH, that would have been sick getting 11/12

Would have got about £590

Colin would have got about 5 grand for where he gets his odds from

This week I got my odds from Paddy Power :D

From my diminishing profit of £85.92 this weeks £5 accumulator is Reading,Newcastle,Gateshead,Carlisle,Luton and Mansfeild which would return £347.12. I suggest that to improve your chances to take the opposite team to win in all matches :D

Can you tell me what this week's lottery numbers aren't going to be? About 45 or so.

Thanks in advance :p:cool:

Dam, I picked Newcastle (sorry Jon)

Might have to take a look at Paddy Power

Didn't know this thread existed, thought I would pop my bet in for today

2017-02-11 (3).webp

On an unrelated note, someone on my forum close to the stable reckon Daphne Du Clos should win the bumper at Newbury this afternoon (4.45) currently around 5-2. Don't seem a to have a racing section on here so might as well pop it in with my footie bet lol.

Many moons ago I used to chat very regularly with racehorse trainers and such as I used to work at Lingfield racetrack . If I had backed all of the dead certs they gave me I would have been forever skint

Well football bet did nothing, but on the racing had 2 trebles come in, the horse I mentioned won, and had £200 on it at 9/4 (would have been £20 but was about £450 in profit from the 2 trebles, so increased it :D ) and had a £20 exacta on the race too which paid almost £200, so over a grand up on the day so more than happy with that. Would have been another £500 if Big Meadow had won the 4.35 instead of coming second :(

What a touch Col. Next week I shall look for your racing tips
Toon are in the lead and if anyone wants a link to the game online then let me know :D

Theres some good lads over there, you get a feel for who's close to the stables, and how confident they are. I still don't usually back anything blindly, apart from from a couple of people. Kicking myself as someone who is good put up Beggars Wishes at Bangor yesterday in the 3.55, I had a look, was 25-1, decided there were too many dangers, and the price put me off, went out, 2 hours later it was 11-1, opened up 8-1 on course, won by 5 lengths :(

"I ain't wasting a £1 on that bag of shite" I said to my mate as I stood at the counter in my local Ladbrokes a couple of years back closed season.

Having spotted the 5,000-1 price and filling the form in mockingly for Leicester to win the premiership, screwed it up "I'd rather chuck it in one of their fixed FOBT's"

Still haunts me now :o

I knew Leicester would struggle this year but this is ridiculous. One point above the relegation zone now

Wonder how many instances there's been of champions being relegated the following season. I really think they'll finish rock-bottom, with Palace 19th and Sunderland 18th :eek2:

think the only time it happened was Man City in the 30's or round then!

Yes. 1937 Man City won the league ahead of Charlton an the next year they where relegated as second bottom ( West Ham came bottom)

During that time my Great Uncle Sam Bartram played in goal for Charlton and was known as the greatest goalkeeper England never had. There is a statue outside the ground in celebration of him

I lived in Charlton back in '97, a stone's throw away from The Valley. Went to see them beat Villa there one time and a handful of reserve matches. You could see the demoted players turning up totally disinterested in proceedings

I also recall their open bus tour when they got promoted against Sunderland I believe in the final, we'd perched ourselves on my balcony to take in the carnival atmosphere. So they were literally on my doorstep, weird :eek2:

They had a great little team under Curbishley, surprised he hasn't done much since those heady days :)
