World Mahjong Tour teams up with MUCH-TV
The World Mahjong Tour will accrue strong Asian branding advantages following a deal signed this week with the Taiwan-based MUCH-TV television group. The partnership grants MUCH TV the right to co-brand its upcoming Taiwan based mahjong television shows under the World Mahjong Tour name and will be played and filmed in Taipei during the month of May.
Approximately 40 Taiwan based celebrities will compete and the top two winners will receive seats at the Taiwan celebrity table of the World Mahjong Tour: "Celebrity Invitational".
This premier WMT televised event will take place during the second week of June in Hong Kong and will feature celebrity tables from China, Hong Kong and the world's top professionals.
MUCH TV brings the distribution, experience and relationships which enhance the overall growth plan of the World Mahjong Tour.
"Our alliance with MUCH TV allows WMT to enter Taiwan and the surrounding region's market, spreading the WMT brand and continued growing popularity of mahjong," said Pierre Wuu and David Wang, World Mahjong Tour founders.
MUCH TV's local Taiwan show will qualify the Taiwan celebrity players for the upcoming World Mahjong Tour: "Celebrity Invitational" and will be broadcasted prior to the main event. MUCH TV mahjong celebrity hosts Xu Nai Ling and Pan Hui Ru will both be playing in the main event in Hong Kong representing the Taiwan celebrity table.
