Susan Boyles from Britain's Got Talent 09

I have to agree with SlotMonster here.

It's a bunch of kids jumping around..IMO. I would rather have a great voice sing, or a great musician play...something on those lines.
Each to their own opinion.
Sure Susan has a great voice - but so do thousands of other people.
Being able to sing in tune is something you are born with IMO.
What Diversity did required precise timing & synchronization, unbelievable imagination & creativity, total dedication and a fabulous sense of humor.
I'm sure the Queen has seen 100's of great singers, but she's seen nothing like Diversity before - I bet she loves it!

With all this "timing & synchronization" they have nothing to say by their dance...except of timing and synchronization...
And I bet the Queen just doesn't say that she doesn't like them, because it wouldn't sound very good and polite...
So I'll take your bet, if you don't mind :D

Thing is you have to look at the bigger picture. The UK is in the grip of the biggest economic crisis ever, the government is crumbling, crime is on the increase, ministers are being found out about stuff and quitting - the whole country is on its knees.

Simon Cowell knows this, and knows how to spin. If you want to play your part in getting onside with the government what do you do.

1. get a 'not very good looking' Scottish spinster with learning difficulties sing a song from a musical

2. promote a bunch of good looking, mixed race 12-25 year old who are proper amateurs and apply the 'you can do anything if you want it bad enough ethic' to the show.

Which one is Cowell gonna look at and go -'yes....this is the image we want to portray'

I feel sorry for Susan Boyle as she was obvioulsy bigged up until Diversity came along. Then Simon Cowell realised that this was the message he wanted his show to promote, and that he can get maximum exposure by touting them as the new breed of kids in society, and how we can all get the UK back on its feet if we work like this - see not all kids are bad blah blah.

Which is why the government also picked up on it, and Simon Cowell gently promoted them with his comments after each performance subconciously swaying the viewers telephone votes.

BGT is a talent competition, but its primarily a money making and political one.

Which is why i stuck on money at 20-1 on them!

Did I understand it right, Diversity's win was just some kind of a 'political manoeuvre' just to show people that UK still has talented kids, and there's always next time?
If yes, it automatically raises the question about vote fairness...

No, I think TheBoyMitchell was just expressing his own personal opinion!
I think it was a fair vote.

My opinion is that many people who wanted Susan to win didn't bother voting because they thought she would walk it, but those who didn't have any prior favorites realised Diversity were the real class act of the night & so voted for them.

I personally voted for them about 15 times - money very well spent IMHO!

LONDON -- Singing sensation Susan Boyle will rejoin the "Britain's Got Talent" live tour on Monday, her spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said the 48-year-old Scottish singer took a break Sunday, but is scheduled to perform in Glasgow on Monday night.

"She had one rest day, but she will be back on stage tonight," she said, adding that she expected Boyle to take part in the rest of the tour, which runs until early July. The spokeswoman spoke anonymously in line with company policy.

Boyle, whose first appearance on the TV talent show generated had millions of YouTube hits and compliments from around the world, had been hospitalized a few weeks ago for exhaustion after finishing second in the competition.

The church volunteer was due on stage for a matinee and evening show at the Manchester Evening News Arena on Sunday, but did not perform.

She received standing ovations at the tour's previous shows in Birmingham and Sheffield.
