Those ancient Roman constructions always blow me away - what fine engineers those guys were!

I was rather surprised at how many structures around there still exist. We were in Nimes which has a colosseum that's still being used. Hell, gladiators fought there two thousand years ago. We have some Roman remnants where I live now, but these were outposts on the frontier borders. No massive structures here.

There's another arena in great condition in Verona, where they still stage marvellous operas - an incredible experience (as you say) to be in such an ancient structure.

The Romans really have to be commended on the way they taught the world to use the concept of the "Keystone" and the importance of it..
