Dear guys,

I am new here and I need some advice as I think I am about to become really really sad. First a little about me, I enjoy playing a lot, only online slots. I spend most of my free money on this hobby, and generally I win some and I lose some.

A couple of months ago i joined slotsmillion. I really think they are great, I love their huge number of games and they are very professional. Their CS team is really great as well and pleasant. Only "bad" thing with them was that I was totally out of luck. so far I had a nice winning once, made a payout which by the way also went very smooth. It was initially so bad that I even thought of closing my account. But, there are not so many out there who offer so many nice games and who are so pleasant and professional that I decided to stay and thought I just had a bad streak and some luck would come back one day. Out of so many games to choose there must be one that would make me win one day.

Yesterday I accepted a free spins bonus. for this I had to make a deposit of 40 euro's, which I did. And I won a nice amount considering the low stake. 130 euro on Scraffy Duck. Their conversion limit was 500 so I thought no problem, I am below that so I didn't think of it much. I have not seen a conversion limit before in other casino's I play.

So I continued playing and got up to about 500 euro and decided to play dead or alive and I win 7000 euro's. I am trying to upload the screenshot but I keep on getting an error message, don't know why.

So I was thrilled, played some more and went to bed. Finally lucky !! VERY lucky I must say.

Now this morning I continued to play to meet the wagering requirements and that goes really really slow, so I read the T&C's once more. They are not very clear to me but this is what is says :

Free spins Bonus, a predefined number of free rounds you can play on one or more games. Once the rounds are played, the total winnings are added to the bonus balance. Example : 20 FS on Startburst will grant you 20 free rounds on the starburst game. If you win 12 euro playing those rounds, the 12 euro will be added to your bonus balance.

The bonus money you accept can be converted into real money. Each onus comes with a wagering coefficient, for example 35x which determines the amount you need to wager with this bonus money, the wagering requirement, so you can convert the remaining bonus balance into real money. The wagering requirement is calculated by multiplying the initial bonus amount with the wagering coefficient. (….)

Immediately after you have completed the Bonus Wagering requirement, the bonus balance is transferred to your real balance and the bonus is archived.

SOME BONUSES HOWEVER, may come with a Conversion limit which determines the amount up to which the bonus can be converted into real money. Example, wagering 350 with your 10 euro bonus money, there is 45 euro left in your bonus balance. If the bonus has no conversion limit or higher than 45, the 45 euro will be transferred to you real balance. If the bonus has a conversion limit lower than 45, let’s say 30, 30 euro’s wil be transferred to your real balance and the rest will be lost.

So the bonus money I won is 130 euro with those free spins. I assumed that as that is below 500 euro, no issue and I need to go through the wagering requirements to get that money transferred to real money. But what about the winnings after that ? Is that than also part of that conversion limit, meaning that I won't get more than 500 euro ?

Please don't tell me that that is the case, as than by bad luck would really have continued....I have never won something like this and this would be really really sad.

Their customer service team is closed now so I cannot ask them so what do you guys think ?

Thanks
Staartmees.

Hi Staartmees,

Thanks for these explanations and congrats for your big win! :)

Could you please send me a PM with your username? I want to have a look at the situation more in details to give you the most appropriate answer to your questions.

Thanks,
Thomas.

I didn't win in the end ! They took everything away from me. I was left with 500 euro in stead of 9200. With my initial deposit of 40 euro that is not bad maybe, but I normally deposit much more. For once only 40 and for once extremely lucky and than this...

The rep of slotsmillion contacted me ( which is great and in line with the rest of their good service) so I am hopeful that he can do something for me as I only got 5 euro's worth of spins....and that is the bonus on which basis they took the rest of my winnings away. That is really not fair in my opinion.

Let's see, I keep my fingers crossed that they will make an exception as I more or less won a jackpot which I think is rare anyway.

Hi Staartmees,

As promised, I had a deeper look at the situation after you sent me your username.

What I could see is that, yes, as per our terms & conditions, there was a conversion limit of €500 in this deposit free spins bonus that you took on the 16th of May. This was stated in the bonus offer when you claimed and accepted it (screenshots 1/2 below) so there is nothing that we can do about this rule.
We offered this bonus of "40€ min. deposit to get 50 free spins on Scruffy Duck (NetEnt)" with a conversion limit as there were 50 high value free spins (a.k.a Super Spins). Note that these 50 super spins on this game are worth 200 free spins on Starburst (NetEnt).

And these are our bonus' terms & conditions:

The fact that you have only been able to convert 500€ to real money from such a big win is quite frustrating. I understand you. However, we can also see it the other way around: if you managed to turn this bonus to real money and go through the wagering requirement (x35), it is also thanks to that lucky big win. Without it, you might not even have turned any of the bonus to real money and 500€ from a 40€ deposit, regardless of your big win, is not that bad, is it?

Anyway Staartmees, I have just spoken about this with my Customer Support team's manager. He should get in touch with you soon, if it's not already done, to see together what we could do for you here. :D

Have a nice day!

Thomas

I feel like this casino gets alot more love than it deserves to be honest.

They took away the reward system and told me they were working on a new one and not to worry that my 86% progress towards one of the highest levels would be compensated.

I bugged and bugged and nothing. That was a year ago. i spoke with my wallet and stopped depositing.

They also bonus banned me because I was a winner. I cannot take part in any of their promos at all. Not even xmas.

You need to be very careful with this casino when it comes to bonuses. Read all the terms and rules on everything because it seems like they do try to cap things to save them from a bite in the ass. Just like this situation here.

Its a good casino if you read every term or if you just play with your own money. Very nice game library too but def have to beware.

Sadly you are out of luck here and anything above the 500 will be taken away. They might be nice and throw a little extra your way though. One time when I got a great blue error in my bonus playtech was too lazy to send them the info. Instead of saying sorry you are out of luck they gave me $200 on .50 bet.

So sometimes they are reasonable.

Hope it works out somewhat for you.

A "conversion limit" on a deposit bonus is a very bad term. And the limit of ca. 12,5 X the min. deposit make it worse.
But good to know... Slotsmillion was (!) good in it´s early days.

And the "super spins" thing make me laugh: Even if you compare this with 200 starburst spins, its nothing more than a 50 % bonus, and only if you don´t deposit more than the minimum

Edit: Just looked in my account and the "conversion limit" for the % bonuses is defined as "0 X bonus amount" . I know thats a mistake but looks quite unprofessional.

I wish if they made the rules more simple as not everyone understand complex words, numbers etc

Not that people are dumb but not everyone understands and reads terms the same and have to read it over and over again to understand.

I don't really like free spin bonuses as they often come with maximum win so you if you win more than that you can't keep it. :(

Deposit bonuses are better if wagering is fair.

Feel bad for you Staartmees especially when you won big on DOA which is pretty hard to win on lately but at least you won something and not a bad amount either :)

Good luck in the future and I hope you win really big soon

Also took this offer and did not read the terms carefully because I did not think slotsmillion had such rules. i Have played a lot at slotsmillion lately and thought I had found myself a new favorite casino here, but it looks like I was wrong unfortunately; in my opinion there are only greedy casinos without any ambitions to be best that have such terms,I think is a bit sad since you have a nice site with games from many providers that I like. But let me know when you have come to your senses.

I have been thinking about it. in this case I played the free spins first. So I had 40 euro of my "own"money and about 90 euro which I got from the free spins ( I hit the bonus round at least 3 times in those 50 spins !) Than you have to wager that 35 times (!) , which is over 4000 euro in spins to get 500 euro in the end, which is already hard to do. It simply means that when you are lucky like I was, you will not benefit from it.

I am not sure how it would have worked if I would have played my own money first, and if unlucky, only then play the free spins. If I would have hit the bonus round on DOA first, there would not have been a bonus so I could have made a withdraw.

The other part of this is that the legal language is sometimes difficult to understand for a non native english speaker. And it is maybe stupid, but this casino is very professional in many ways. You then more or less also expect their bonus terms to be fair, not like those casino's that would do everything to stop you from withdrawing. I am probably an exception, I realize that as winning such an amount on DOA is rare itself of course, but I feel really punished by those bonus T&C. what if I won a jackpot ?

Anyway, I do realize this is an exceptional course of events, not often somebody will win such an amount on a 1.80 euro spin.

I do remain positive as I am very happy that I am contacted by slotsmillion and they are looking into my case. Maybe they will be considerate of this particular case.

I will keep you posted !

When you press reply to thread at the top you will see a little paper clip, click on it and then press add files, a little box will appear where it says select files which will open up your computer to select your screenshots.

If file is too big it has a red cross that's when you go and resize your screenshot in paint. That's how I do mine.

I am probably not very good at explaining but if Harry reads this thread he would prob give you step by step instructions. He is very good like that :)

There are multiple types of free spins, but they shouldn´t ever have terms as these here.

There a wager free free spins (usually low stake like 10p) and normal free spins (>0.25p) and on rare occasion super spins (<100p).

NEVER should there be a conversion limit from free spins that need to be wagered. Thats just a double negative in this case, because not only do you have to wager much more due to the super spins (you win more = you have to wager more), you would end up going bonus free for the best course of action.

Do you really think you can stay competitive with this term when there are casinos with no wagering and no max. cashout? Think again, it´s for your best.
This stuff is what separates the accredited casinos, you don´t have to worry about any terms trying to screw you over, they are solely for abuse protection, so even with some casinos that have no contribution on Dead or Alive, they won´t deny your payout if you win big and wager it on machines that contribute.

It´s short term thinking "we can calculate that we won´t lose more then amount of customers x 500".

In the long term, people will stop taking bonuses and eventually playing.

Make it wager free and see what happens. Profit in the long term....

Make it with wagering but no max cashout. Short and long term profit.

Rant over.

I have also had this issue with them. I got 30 free spins on Jungle Spirit for depositing 20e. I won e2,75 from these spins and went on to play Strburst. After playing for some time I hit a win which brought my winnings to 795.46. Immiediately 495.46 was confiscated bringing my balance to 300. I queried this with them and was also fed the 30 x conversion limit bullshit. I tried to check my transactions spin by spin to see what happened but this info is not available. I have emailed them asking for a detailed log of all transactions spin by spin. I believe I met wagering requirements of 35x 2.75 before I hit this win. I am still non the wiser of what this conversion thing really is. I just find it strange that on the big win it immediately reduced my balance. Isn't this just another way of capping winnings from a bonus. I think its very unfair that there should be wagering requirements along with this conversion thing. I have not yet had a response from them

I think I've started the first SlotsMillion threat here when they opened. They had a mind blowing selection of games (lot more than VS at that time) and for my first level up I received 50 Euro.

I stopped playing there when they abandonded loyalty scheme, honestly that is a must these days. Their loss, Videoslots gain.

Regarding this thread, unfortunately it was clear as day OP had a max cashout attached, even though the "max conversion" is a really silly and confusing way to name it.

Hi Staartmees,

Just for information, you mentioned that the 50 Super Spins you got were worth 5€ of spins, they were actually worth 1€ per spin, so 50€ for the package you got

Hi Harmont,

I just had a look at your case and I still cannot tell whether you're lucky or deeply unlucky :eek2:

Just to sum up the situation for everybody following this thread, you had 5 cents (0,05€) remaining to complete the wagering requirement of this bonus. On the very last bet you had to do before turning your bonus money balance into real money, you got this big win of 689.50€.
As this bet was done with bonus money while still trying to meet the wagering requirement, it was counted towards your bonus balance. In the meantime, it completed the WR and therefore automatically converted all your earnings to real money, but with the cap of 300€ due to the conversion limit. So your balance went from 795,46€ of bonus money to 300€ of real money which might seem quite unlucky, but it’s like the glass that you see half full or half empty. You won 300€ with that bonus money. I can understand your frustration but it is a nice win.

We verified our system and sent you the logs. Technically speaking, everything is correct and has been done by the rule. Now you might find the conversion limit unfair and your disappointment is understandable. I will speak with the management team about this particular case and as you submitted a PAB, we have also contacted Max to find an appropriate solution together :)

Please note that we are already having internal discussions about removing the conversion limit. This system was set up on SlotsMillion two years ago now. At the time it was more of a common thing to see at online casinos, but it seems that this is not the case anymore and is even considered as "not fair" by players. And I can understand this point of view.
This kind of bonus’ restriction now bothers us, as we do our best to implement systems such as our Bonus Safeguard (feature that I will explain in more detail later on) so SlotsMillion’s players don't have to face such issues, i.e. to bet with bonus money and have their winnings made with such bets limited or voided. Our philosophy is player oriented and this completely goes against it. We consider here that your feedback brings up an issue; we understand that it is frustrating and we are working on a solution.

Cheers,
Thomas - SlotsMillion!

Do you guys ever plan on addressing your removal of the loyalty system. We were outright lied to.

I can go and find the posts where you guys said you were revamping it and it would be up soon. That was 1 year ago.

I think its outrageous you took everyone levels and progress away and said too bad you get nothing.

i wagered about $100,000 towards the next level and was 86% there which would have resulted in $200 or more.

Care to explain.

The only reason this isnt a bigger issue on this forum is not many people play here. If this happened on videoslots there would be a massive uproar. But again videoslots would never do this.

Sorry for the slight derail but Im pretty bitter about how they went about this and made a post a year ago like I had sour grapes.

Hope the OP gets paid everything and they trash this terrible term

Thanks Thomas, that would be really appreciated if conversion limit was removed and I would definitely play there more often.

I deposited there yesterday and did not claim free spins offer just for that reason.

The Casino is great but we do need some kind of a loyalty system and this would make players happier and the casino greater :)

Can I just ask something about this?
If he had 0,05€ left in wagering requirements, and bet say 0,20€, then only a proportion of the bet was done with bonus money, not it all. In my example it would be that 75% of the bet was done with real money surely, so surely the winnings etc should be calculated on that basis? So remove 25% of the winnings over the 300, and leave the rest. Obviously if he was playing 1€ then it would be 5%/95% etc.

Hi colinsunderland,

My name is Charlotte and I'm Head of Product at SlotsMillion online casino. As your question relates to a very specific scenario, Thomas asked me to join the thread in order to give an accurate reply about how exactly it works.

In short: the mechanism to turn a bonus to real is executed at the round level, not at the bet level, so in your example the entire round would be considered as bonus.

In more detail: in the example you give of a 0,20€ bet while only 0,05€ of wagering is missing to complete the bonus and turn it to real, the system cannot allow a 0,15€ real money bet as the player doesn't currently have this money on his real money balance - as the bonus is not yet turned to real.

If I have to summarise the flow the system would follow:
- To turn a bonus to real, the system requires an authorised bet high enough to complete the wagering requirement
- To authorise this last bet, the system verifies that the player has enough balance to proceed with the bet
- In this very specific case, the bet will be rejected because the player doesn't have the real money in his balance (as the bonus is not yet turned to real)
- The bet would be rejected, and the bonus thus not turned to real

To allow such a scenario we would have to trick the betting engine to authorise betting with not enough money, and by nature this engine is meant to prevent this from happening.

I agree that this is not the most accurate way, but there are technical limitations that we unfortunately cannot ignore without raising other technical or fraud issues.
I believe this scenario is rare enough to be managed on a "case by case" basis and it seems fair that the player would receive his due winnings.
As Thomas mentioned, the Casino Management is discussing the removal of the Conversion limit (in which case this inaccuracy wouldn't happen anymore).
In the event that this limit remains in use for some "fraud risk bonuses" like no deposit sign up bonuses - which is what's practiced on most casinos - we'll look into a way to raise an alert in the system. If we technically cannot adjust the winnings immediately, we can definitely have a routine that looks for this specific scenario in the history and transfers the money that shouldn't have been cut by the conversion limit to the real money balance - with proper communication to inform the player.

Cheers
Charlotte - SlotsMillion

Since ive trashed these guys for the way they treated me last year, its only fair to post when they were pleasant to me.

As you know, I was bonus banned and promotion banned because I was a winner in their casino. My reward level was taken away and never refunded. I was absolutely furious. Im still not happy about the reward level thing but thats for another time.

Yesterday, I went to slotsmillion and I dont really know why since there are other casinos out there. And I said to Simon that I will take the first step in repairing our relationship and asked them to review this bonus and promotion ban as it made me feel not part of the experience. When everyone else gets christmas promos and im excluded its not really a nice feeling. I was up like $4000 so its not like I was up some crazy amount for this to happen. To my surprise they gave me a 25% up to $300. Its not the greatest of bonus but since its to be used if you lose all your money, thats when it matters. So I deposited $350 and got $87.50 bonus to be wagered if I lost my money.

I was surprised to be given a bonus of any sort since they have been pretty adamant that I am only allowed to play with straight money. I took the bonus and I didnt need to dip into it because I won before I got close to losing my cash.

Simon deserves a shout out he was very pleasant and friendly.

My cashout was processed early the next working day when people were at the office which I appreciate it not sitting in pending all day like some casino's do hoping you reverse it and lose it. Even though it was a small bonus Im hoping this is the start of things being repaired between myself and slotsmillion. I dont know if I will be welcome to their bonuses from now on or their special promo's. Im hoping so but for now, I am happy they at least tried with me.

Hey there,

just a bit of a warning/request. I see that when you have an active bonus and only have a few cents left in the account, the bonus is not canceled. Which means, if you dont notice the pennies or you forget and deposit. Just because you have a few cents left, your fresh deposit will be forced to complete that wager. Which could very well be $10,000 wager on a non bonus deposit.

I would like to see slotsmillion implement a system that when balances are under $1, the bonus is automatically forfeit Or at the very least, under 0.25.

If this happened to me, i would be quite upset. And I only see complaints in the future about this.

Especially now that I see a surge in popularity within your brand as you continue to grow

Hey there,

just a bit of a warning/request.

Players also need to be aware that IF you request them to forfeit your 5 cents so you can make a fresh deposit, the rest of your welcome free spins are forfeited also. Created an account there, had a few issues like:

Them forfeiting free spins because i wanted to play with cash.
Maximum cashout limits on deposit free spins (welcome offer)
Laggy games
Not being able to PAY to Ecopayz but accepting deposits.

Ended up shutting my account and don't think I'll be back there. They lost a pretty decent depositor.

yeah I can understand your frustration for sure. The laggy games and lobby is quite annoying. Even when you use the search bar, it takes a little bit of time for the game to show up in the lobby. The site seems pretty slow. I mean ive seen way worse but when I play or watch someone stream, I dont want to see lag. They did however address this and said they are working on it.

I find it weird people cant cashout to ecopayz. I wasnt aware of that because i dont use it.

Overall these guys are a good casino because they listen to feedback, payout time is reasonable, lock feature, many games to choose from and usually friendly and helpful support. They have made a bunch of changes because of player demand which is always a huge positive. Just this morning I addressed the cents>bonus issue with them, and I was assured they would have this sorted.

I have been told they are a fairly small casino but as they are starting to grow, especially recently, I think some of the kinks they have are being exposed now that its getting busy.

So I dont blame you for being upset but i think if you give these guys some time and dont play there, they will sort most of this stuff out. They really do seem quite reasonable. And trust me, in the past I have been very harsh with some of stuff they did.

I will also comment that they have had "ecopayz" deposits for over a year now without the ability to do a withdrawal back to it and the only option has been bank wire transfer for me as a Canadian. I have actually been holding off doing a deposit recently because they said the option to cash out to Ecopayz is coming any week now...

And as for the website performance... It is not good at all. I always filter slots by provider and the time it takes before the slots show up takes way too long. Then when I try to unselect said provider and choose another one... Have fun waiting even more! :(

Once the website performance has improved to be nice and fast when filtering slots or doing a search and also that Ecopayz is finally a cashout option for Canadians and others that this site will be right back up there near the top casinos that I like to play at.

I know you can do it Slotsmillion!

Hi Lockinlove,

The wagering system in SlotsMillion is attached to bonus money only, not to real money. Your real money is in fact never bound to the casino. The philosophy in SlotsMillion is that the money in your real money balance is yours unconditionally - see below a note about the AML rule however.

If you make a deposit of 100€ and get let's say 50€ bonus:
- you will start playing your 100€ real money. You will not be wagering your bonus with it. You will basically play just as if you had no bonus.
- if you win, you can withdraw (the bonus will then be removed from your account since the philosophy is to grant you bonuses to give you "extra chances if you're unlucky" which is not the case if you're withdrawing).
- if you lose and your balance reaches zero, you will start betting with your 50€ bonus money and then start to wager this bonus (the wagering requirement is on bonus only obviously, not deposit + bonus). Each cent of this bonus will count towards the wagering requirement of the corresponding bonus.
- if you get another bonus (let's say a free 10€ bonus) while you have 0,10€ left on your first bonus, the first 0,10€ bet you will make will count for the unfinished bonus, while the rest will count for the new one.

Your deposited real money never has to complete any bonus wagering.
Your bonus money has no accumulative wagering requirement: each bonus has its own current wagering requirement and progression.

Note about real money wagering since I remember seeing someone commenting about it in another topic: the only restriction in place on real money is a rule for AML that requires that a player wagers at least twice each deposit. The intentions behind this rule are:
- to prevent players from using our casino as a bank to transfer money from one method to another (for instance, making a deposit with a mobile solution - to have the invoice in their next phone bill, and withdraw with their bank account right away because they need some cash)
- to protect ourselves against abuses since we do not apply any fee on deposits and withdrawals and for the time being we prefer to forbid a deposit refunding behavior rather than applying fees to all new "not-yet-trusted" players (penalizing everyone for the abuse of a few)

We however tend to be flexible with this rule if the behavior of the player seems legitimate (for instance if a player gets a big win before having done those x2 wagering, we understand the player didn't mean to use us to move cash and so we allow the withdrawal) but it is totally up to the fraud department to take that decision case by case.

Please tell me if this explanation is unclear.

Hi Nate,

Players also need to be aware that IF you request them to forfeit your 5 cents so you can make a fresh deposit, the rest of your welcome free spins are forfeited also.

I would need to have a look at your account to confirm, but here's what I suspect happened: you requested the CS to cancel your freespin bonus thinking your next deposit would be bound to whatever amount of money left on the bonus (cf my answer in previous post). The CS agent probably didn't question your request and removed the welcome offer freespin package from your account. You then never received the other bonuses of the package because the whole package was cancelled for you. (The reason behind this is that the deposit bonus + the 5 FS of the welcome offer are like one and only bonus activated thanks to your first deposit)

If you have asked the CS about it, they probably have granted those missing freespin bonuses to you since it was never anyone's intention to remove the full Welcome FS package from your account.

I am sorry it clouded your experience at SlotsMillion. I will inform our CS Manager that we might need to be better advising our players in this kind of situation. There is in fact, to my knowledge, no particular player-side reason to cancel a bonus at SlotsMillion (unless for the tidiness of a 0.00€ balance).
