Slot Error

This is a game I have been playing at Slots.LV. It has been driving me nuts. The game is Caesar's Empire. The picture is blurry because I had to take the shot while the game is running. If you look close you will see the last column the yellow blur is a wild symbol (coin). This was taken during the regular game and NOT in free spins. The problem with this is that it is impossible to get the wild symbol on line five during the regular spins. It only shows up during the bonus game.

I have probably had 1,000 spins and the symbol is always there yet it never (and can't) land on the wild in the 5th line. Anyone have and idea what is up with this?

There are loads of slots that seem to show symbols on reels as they are spinning that shouldn't be there.

Hitman is one example. It shows the wild on reels 1 and 5 when spinning tho those reels don't have wilds.

Just the way the animation goes as the reels spin for some reason. But as the symbol never lands on the reel then its just one of those things. The slot still works correctly and seeing it spin makes no difference at all to the eventual outcome.

As above - on some slots the spinning reels are just "eye candy" and not a true representation of the actual reel strips.

However, I am very surprised to see this because until now I always thought RTG slots DID have true representations of the strips.

Afterthought: I just remembered the Bodog group apparently bought the outright rights to the RTG games they have - so they have the permission and ability to "tweak" them if they desire. This could be proof that they have "fiddled" with this game. Either that, or it's a very old version.
Pretty easy to check, just go to a few non-Bodog casinos, run the game & see if you get the same thing...

{edit} I just did 50 spins at Intertops - and the coin never went past on reel 5 once.
I also notice the pay-table has a completely different layout.
Will be interesting to see what the casino has to say about this, as the game is clearly different from the RTG standard version...

It's called (credit Chopley!) 'gimped reels'. If you saw my latest new slot video Happy Halloween, the wild pumpkins appear spinning on reel 1 but you can't get them on reel 1. Hitman example has been given above. I think Immortal Romance spins scatters round in the Wild Desire too but you can't get them - it's just lazy programming and just goes to back up my statements that video graphics are a separate entity to the RNG result selection of any spin. In other words a video representation is generated separately to display the result of your spin, after the result is already decided.
Many people believe that the reels are actually spinning BEFORE the RNG selects the 'stop' positions, like a B&M 3-reel slot would for example. In this case they obviously aren't which is odd as RTG were supposed to be the one software that actually reproduces 'real' slot workings!

Online slots can cut corners and bypass stopping all 5 reels separately and simply pull one single result for speed and ease of programming and then generate a video graphic to reflect that result. This seems to be the case here.

I just noticed something else - it looks to me like Vegasbum was playing the flash version, whereas I was talking about the download version.
This could also explain this anomaly - sloppy programming (as Dunover said) in the conversion of the game to flash.
