Firstly, I am reasonably new to Skrill and although the account was simple enough to set up, I am failing to see any benefits so far.

Firstly, they charge you to deposit

Secondly, they charge you to withdraw

Thirdly, I have yet to receive a withdrawal requested 4 days back and it appears it can take up to 7 days for me to receive money?

I only set the account up having seen so many posts of people receiving e-wallet payments very quickly, but what is the point if sat in a Skrill account and not in your bank account?

Seriously wished I requested a withdrawal to my card from the casino instead of using Skrill.

At least with Paypal when I request a withdrawal, I get funds near enough immediately in my bank account and without any charges.

Amy I missing something? Certainly easy enough to deposit at places using Skrill (except for the charges), but hopeless getting your money back out of them. Shocking - 7 days to get my money in this day and age of electronic banking?!?!?!

I usually get mine next day, sometimes even the same day (but not very often)
Maybe its because its a new account.

Have you verified it?

You can get a card so you can withdraw from cash machines, i havent bothered with one of those though

Skrill (and Neteller) work best when used as your "gambling wallet", which you basically use as an additional bank account.
i.e. just leave your money in there all the time to use for your gambling play, and only withdraw to your bank when you reach a certain threshold of profit.
If you just use it as an intermediary method to get money from your bank to the casino & back every time it IS going to cost you a LOT in fees and time, and is therefore pointless.

e.g. With my Skrill account I only withdraw to my bank every 2 months or so - if I have a healthy balance, and never less than €1,000 at a time.

They are convenience e-wallets and just like for "convenience food" you pay for the service.

They charge for about everything you do on the accounts, upload fees, currency exchange fees, ATM withdrawals fees...fees, fees, fees

They all, Skrill/Neteller/Ecopayz/Entropay....etc., have become so popular because many countries/banks do not allow transactions from credit/debit cards to gaming/betting sites, which is the case for me. Thai banks decline all direct transaction to casinos but allow them to e-wallets.

Secondly, a player does not have to give his cc/debit card details to a casino operator.

Payouts to these e-wallets should, and are in my case, instant the soon the casino hits the "submit" button at their end because they basically transfer the money from their Skrill/NT/EP accounts to the player account, hence no delay and why I do prefer to use them.

A transfer from the e-wallets to my bank account takes 2-3 banking days and cost 10$.

EDIT: agree with KK, my threshold to do a transfer from NT/EP back to my bank account is 2000$

Im the same, i only transfer decent amounts to my bank.

Also saves your bank statement from looking a right mess when you use e wallets.

Trouble is, more and more casinos wont let you take bonuses when using e wallets now

Yep, all successfully verified.

Good point as using it as a standalone account. Handy for 'hiding' money in case my missus ever looks at the bank statements!

Not only the Mrs, if you are ever applying for a loan, mortgage or anything that requires a credit check then gambling transactions can have a very adverse effect on your success of achieving that. Better to keep it all separate from your main banking.

Bang On!

Although in control of my slotting, I would sometimes look at my bank statement and feel embarrassed, even if well 'In front' that month, simply the amount of casino transactions showing sometimes would be enough to make me 'wince'

That's when (with the help of Spintee on here) I got my Skrill sorted. Now I can put my weekly allowance into Skrill (or leave it there if I've been winning from a withdrawal) and when its gone, its gone.

Helps keep Halifax statement 'clean', helps to maintain control and nice and discreet also. All these advantages I feel make up for the fee's, although they are a bit of a rip off, especially if playing in euros and I need to convert back to GBP when making a cash out!

This is where they have us by the short and curly's. They know that it is too much effort for us to go set up a Euro bank account somewhere, so they get away with these rather appalling exchange rates. However, for me this means that there is an opportunity for a competitor to come in an offer something better.

There is a competitor for this isn't there, in the form of the Fair FX card? Preload your cards in Euro, USD, etc at probably a much better exchange rate.

www.fairfx.com

Never used one before, but the idea seems sound in agreeing the exchange rate and loading cash on the card.

Would be nice to have a real competitor for NT/EP but this one isn't, even worse than Neteller. Did a quick comparison GBP --> EUR:

Notwithstanding the integration of Neteller and Skrill in most casinos, making deposits and withdrawals a lot easier. There is a good reason why so many players like to use them.

Well, I love the fact that my withdrawal left the casino into an account of my own in relatively quick time. Ok, would prefer it in a bank account, but with no disrespect to casinos, some do take an age to pay out so it does put my mind at rest that it was paid!

NOTE: I received my Skrill withdrawal into my bank account this afternoon, so basically 4 days to be received.

Just looked back at my last 6 Skrill withdrawals to my bank: all were either the same day or the next day at the latest.
Maybe yours are slower because you're new to them?
Hopefully future ones will be quicker for you

I used to use Skrill often but where I play now PayPal is good & I play less then I used to.

With Skrill I would be able to send a direct bank transfer to upload which cost £0.00. Then to withdraw it used to cost something silly between £1.50-£2.00. This was always bank into my bank account within two hours, should I request the withdrawal in banking hours.

I would recommend Skrill to be honest, I used to have the Skrill debit card too which used to charge for every transaction taking out cash, but you was allowed 5-10 free transactions to spend in shops per day

I'm not sure if this has now changed, it was 2014ish.

They are a convince at best, Greed Greed Greed, I am just about to follow up about by double charge x2 lots of cash they took of me, Look out for the post

Its pointless using them unless you do not want charges on your bank statements, To me its not a bother whats on my accounts but to some they do not want to see gambling transactions, It does come in handy sometimes if any one is like my self and budget on a tight rope, I can get paid from sites like VS in less than one minute like yesterday and I can go and use the cash instantly with the skrill card, In this case it wasnt to be as they had it straight back but if it was a good win than money is there, But normally if I used my card it be in there the next day any way to bank,

They have just changed all the fess, now its a standerd 1.75% charge if taking out cash with the card, It used to be like 1.50 Euro about £1.30 I was charged, Now its £1.75 for every ton, Take JonM's transaction when he got a good hit, Cost him £70 in EX rate and that was just skrills extra added charge, Should of kept in in there Jon as would of got a lot more back now afterbrexit :(
Any way going to find my post now and update my situation

Spot on mate.

I had to force myself to stop thinking along these lines as I was gutted.

Withdrew 2,700 euros from Redbet from my B'day bonus. If I had used my brain and a bit of patience I would have been better off by around £500GBP. (and that's without making a single spin lol)

Was ok(ish) at the time for cash so only had to wait 4-5 days and could have 'struggled' through.

Thats the trouble, We didnt know what the score would of been, Not only that we are not all rich and any cash is good cash :) especially if its winnings,

Bottom line is at the time its not much trouble, got the cash happy days, ewallets got to make some cash along the lines but DO NOT take the jimmy, as when looking back its a hell of alot of money they take of us times that by a few millon transactions a week? Than there probly paying tax at 000.01% yet deny us with our own cash to deposit at sites?,,

I do not like being told where I can spend my own cash, If the goverment wants to eat some of the pie than sort it there selfs, DO NOT go threw 3rd parties to do it, In fact My MP is that peter bone, I going to go by there soon, bessy mates with with nigel farrar what ever he bloody name is, No dout there be in the pubs getting wanked, Mind you they are decent people speaking up for our country
