Secret Garden ~ New Rival Game

Yes. It is decent, but nothing more. "Scary Rich" is still the best Rival slot.

But what worries me about "Secret Garden" is that payout% is only at 87%!!

You can see this under "Help". When I checked today at SlotOCash most slots was set at 86% or 87%. Scary Rich was still at 96% though. Rival used to have 95%+ for all slots. Guess this has changed...

Uh....funny I'm trying it out at TIV and it says "about 96%"
Zoozie, I think you are mistaken, I just checked SlotOCash and it's says the same as TIV.

Here is a screenie also. :)

I should look at those more:eek: Is this concluded by the paytable or results from a certain time period? I often wondered and never bothered to ask before.

Bonus round is kind of a trip... got 840 on .2 bet, after spending about ten... hmmm maybe a bit too 'cutsey' for me, but if it ends up paying well I'll play it again :D

BB's last pic post tells me it is based on the paytables ''expected return about''

I didn't get much action off that game after the first bonus round... maybe I pulled out too soon, cuz I got none off hole in won! Back to 3D

And he's back! Welcome again fella.

I didn't get that specific error but I did get one that included the word SOAP and it happens when you're in the bonus round within the free spins. I got it once on Cleo's Coins and again today on Secret Garden. What happens when you get the SOAP error is that you get kicked out of the software and when you get back in, you return to the free spins but don't get to pick anything in the bonus round because the software picks it for you. I don't think that's fair and didn't find anything about on the website. However, the website does say that you will return to the free spins if you get an error and it does let you do that.

I didn't get the errors but I peed in my boot when an hour after playing through my no bonus deposit I got an email offering 500% @125x playthrough plus an extra entry into the Vegas trip sweepstakes. (other bonus) An hour early and a dollar short, that's me. Add me to the whiners I guess :D
+++++++++++
@chuchu: very good to see you :)

4th bonus round (20 spins x2) in 15 minutes :what:

Didn't get a SS of the last one, but it actually paid 20x...amazing!

But, as you can see the next one was back to normal. :D

In all fairness, for this session the payout % is definitely not 87%.

edit: lol, I just hit the free spins for the 5th time...hopefully the next time I post a 100x shot :p

Yes, I just checked again and NOW it says 96%. It was 87% before. But I noticed that I had to download a new version of "Secret Garden". So I still think I played the 87% version. Some of the other games that was 87% before are now 96% again... Something changed over night.

Next time I will take a screenshot...

And I will check the bottom of the help page before playing any Rival slot in the future (not that 96% vs 87% helps when I'm losing :))

I found one game that still has the 87% paytable at SlotOCash. It is Cleopatra's coin. Maybe you will believe me then...

Before it was all games except a few (like Scary Rich). This is the strength of Rival software. You know what you get. Maybe SlotOCash management was not aware you would see the expected payout%. Guess they are now.

Can't compare because TIV is 87% at the moment as well.
Oh well, here's the paytable from sloto at 87% if it ever goes back to 96% anywhere, please cap a screenie someone so we can compare

It would be nice if it were possible to tell whether or not the reel layouts and/or paytables actually changed, as opposed to the casino operator manually entering 96% to make the game look like a better bet than it really is.
The reels can be plotted out (I know - I've done it at MG) but it takes fricking hours.
However, if someone would like to pay me a large fee I will do it for you...! :p

I analyzed Harveys using that method, and it was no small feat - plus there's always a little bit of uncertainty without having the actual data to verify against.

In this particular case, it would have been necessary to compare the before and after reel layouts in order to determine if there was a difference.

Yes, I do also want to know this for Rival software.

I know the answer for Wagerworks software. The casino operate can choose from predefined reel layouts (paytable is the same). And the shown payout% will reflect this. However the casino operator can decide not to show the payout%. But from this we can conclude that if the payout% is shown, it is correct.

Well Ive tried this one now, but Im not a fan.

The bonus round is a bit of a fantasy-fortune-like clone and although I did manage to get 50x bet on one round it took like 7 or 8 levels to get there, which seems a bit long IMO. The free spins dont seem to produce much, as most of the line pays are terrible (so 2x just makes them a bit better than terrible).

Having said that, at least Rival make an effort to come out with something different quite often which is more than I can say for MG and others.

I will also add that the free spins dont seem to be as frequent on Scary Rich any more - Ive noticed this over the course of several weeks. Of course, I have no proof but I do wonder sometimes if casinos play with reel layouts etc as opposed to paytables to make it less obvious (and of course very hard to prove). Im not making accusations here, but sometimes slot players get a 'gut feeling' and this is what I have at the moment.

Anyway, good luck to all!

I played Secret Garden in free mode. It's a lovely game, but a bit too 'cutesy' or 'girly' even for me. It was fun, but I doubt that I'll play it much. I've developed a fancy for Travel Bug for some reason.

I grant kudos to Rival for coming up with great little games.

I do wish they'd come out w/more 3 reelers, though. The vid slots are great, but sometimes I like to see more than 10% of bet returned when I do hit a little something.

I like their denomination variety in VP, but I want more video poker games.

Don't seem fair

I didn't get that specific error but I did get one that included the word SOAP and it happens when you're in the bonus round within the free spins. I got it once on Cleo's Coins and again today on Secret Garden. What happens when you get the SOAP error is that you get kicked out of the software and when you get back in, you return to the free spins but don't get to pick anything in the bonus round because the software picks it for you. I don't think that's fair and didn't find anything about on the website. However, the website does say that you will return to the free spins if you get an error and it does let you do that.

ITA Baylee about the error message in the free spins. It happened to me two times, and altho I don't think it's fair, it did pay better than when I didn't have an error message! Has anyone else had the winning amt. come up even before the slot finishes playing? On any of the slots. Kinda like finding out in the Wizard of Oz who is behind the curtain. Definitely takes the mystery out of it.

30 free spins?

I just noticed in the Divinci's Gold email that it says "30 free spins". I got the free spins a number of times and it only gave 20. Slotocash claims the same "30 free spins" on another review site that I just saw.

I only played at TIV, but it shouldn't be any different than DG or SOC. Did anyone get 30 or am I just crazy? Ok, just answer the first part of the previous question :p

I don't know why they advertise it this way.....poor marketing if you ask me.

3 scatters = 20 free spins
4 scatters = 30 free spins
5 scatters = 50 free spins

They should be more truthful and IMO it'd be in their best interest to word it as "up to 50 free spins".

You beat me to it. I was just about to edit my post to include what I just found in the Paytables screen. I agree, they should've worded it like you said, but maybe they were just trying to entice by using the medium. I hit the free spins tons of time and even retriggered up to 3 times during several of those but never saw more than 3 doors. But to be honest, with the payout I was getting, I'm not sure I could've sat through many more of the retriggers though.

Hell, I don't know how many times I've gotten the 4 Frankensteins on SR...wouldn't it be great if it gave more than 10spins?

I do wish that the scatters paid something, anything, kinda like getting the 3 or 4 presents on MG's Ho Ho Ho.

Looks like they can set the %. I would like to hear from our TIV friend on this. 87%, that is robbery.:eek2:

I PM'd him earlier to see how his session went, as he posted right after I started this thread that he was playing SG. I know he's really really busy right now but he'll be around to let us know :)
