Who gives a shit
Hi,

So I recently joined a casino which shows the current RTP rates and Hot/Cold machines via a live feed (love the idea) never seen this before, has anyone known a big difference with gameplay for example if you catch a real hot machine have you come away from the machine winning with a positive balance etc? Is it really worth taking notice of?

It just shows how some games have performed over the past x number of hours. It's no indication of how they'll perform in the future.

I don't take any notice of them, although I might avoid a game which is listed as 'cold'

Thanks mate.

I'm gonna test it out over the next few days with very low stakes and compare both. Will have a good few hour sessions playing this week and see how it works out.

Also, if you're talking about Betat. I've noticed that the hot/cold lists don't seem to be updated regularly. I've played 6-7 hour sessions there and the exact same games have shown in those lists all the time I was playing.

Ahh interesting. I'll keep an eye on that one. How have you found Betat so far compared with other sites Brian?

Hot and cold statistics are a gimmick and serve no real purpose other than dupe players into playing less played slots.

Nor do I believe for one second that these make-believe figures are monitored, regulated or updated.

Other than that, I trust them with my life

A bit like the "jackpot thermometers" on MG download casinos; load of old bollocks, designed purely to suck people in in the belief a jackpot is about to drop. Like it's that predictable

Its a nice gimmick thats all as gives no actually proof or data as to if a machine is hot or cold. It can just feel that a machine is hot when paying and cold as ice when not. Everything in between is just the maths model doing its business. MG has had this for years and it means absolutely nowt.

Just look at the numbers Videoslots releases:

(Jan 2017)
The lowest paying 5 reel slot sits at a whopping 0.0%.
The highest paying 5 reel slot sits at 282.6%.

But if you look at the 50 most played 5 reel slots for the same time:
The lowest paying one sits at: 85.6%
The highest paying one sits at: 109%

So obviously the only real factor in the whole hot or not thing is simply if a slot has enough players or not to average out.

But even that doesn't matter in the end, your session = your individual luck of the draw.

I find if you are new to a particular slot or casino for that matter the machines don't understand the type of player you are. So what I mean is you straight away hit a bonus, your playing say £5 per spin you'll get something like £70-£200. If you suddenly hit a machine which is 'hot' which gives huge wins and great bonuses, it soon becomes pretty cold especially once you hit a good win, you then go back on the slot a few hours or days later and for me the machine just remains very cold.

If however you've been playing on a machine for quite a while with low pays and low bonuses you'll eventually find the machine will start to pay quite a bit.

So all in all this perception of the machine been random is pretty wrong, I think it's all down to your individual gameplay. Unless, of course you play one of the jackpot games which has a progressive jackpot of say £90k in which case this is triggered randomly.
