RTP being adjusted

Hello all,

I am new to online casinos. I have only been playing for a few months, it started off with the odd £10/£20 every few weeks with smaller wins, but I have now been playing more frequently with higher deposits. Of course.. not depositing more then I can afford to lose.

Anyway, apologies for any silly questions I ask.

I was wondering, can online casinos vary the RTP for particular players. I ask because I was reading the forums and I've seen people write things like, ' I used to play at XXX, I used to get good wins frequently but now i don't win, so I don't play there much now.'

Also, does the RTP for certain casinos vary? I'm sure I read on PlayOjos site that their RTP for slots is higher then other online casinos.

Hey there - and welcome to the forum. There's a (very long) AMA thread that answers this, but it would take you forever to find it in there! Although as a newbie, it might be worth having a nose through some of it at some point - might help you a bit.

Anyway, to answer your question directly - it would be technically possible for the casino to give some players a 96% version of a game, and others a 94% version of a game. But the RTP for the version you are playing would be shown in the help pages, so at least available somewhere on the website.

However, just because something is technically possible doesn't mean it's done - and i would be very very surprised if any reputable casino did anything like this.

When people say "I used to play at XXX and get good wins, but now i don't" that's just natural human behavior. All games can give big wins - if you're lucky you might get a few close together. But chances are, if you do string a few big wins together, your luck will change and you'll have a run with no big wins. That's just the nature of random games - if you can't accept losing times as well as winning ones, you shouldn't be playing.

RTP for casinos certainly does vary - games providers normally provide a few different RTP variants. The casinos can choose which one of these they want their players to have. Again always check the RTP for the game, which has to be displayed somewhere in the game rules or on the website if the casino is licensed to operate in the UK.

For Netent for example you find in the left bottom of the slot a ? sign.
When you click on that you will find the help file for that particular slot with an explanation of how this slot works, which features you can trigger and the paytable.
It will also state the RTP for this slot, mostly to be found on the bottom of the help file.

For example for Jumanji (Netent) on Slotsmillion it shows following RTP:

For most slots and slots providers it is very easy to determine the RTP setting for a slot this way.

I see the image fine. It is directly linked from TinyPic so that is why there is also no CM logo as well.
