RIP William Hurt

Always feels a shame the departed never get to hear [only considering this realm ] the tributes, how they'll be missed etc.., no other way I suppose. His is a name I strongly associate with the 80's, so another turn on the cog and break with that past. I do quite like watching old films and tv, and the actors in them achieve a kind of screen immortality, and continue to entertain and give enjoyment to future generations. It's a good thing to be able to achieve.

He was a fine actor - great in Body Heat, Gorky Park and Children of a Lesser God. It's says something about someone that after his death, his body of work will be remembered fondly by millions of people. (It's not his fault, but I didn't really care for The Big Chill - he gave a good performance in that one, but my complaint is that the film was all style and no substance, like Flashdance or lots of other 80's films.)
