Great idea Laurie! :notworthy

Below is my flag, and I'll also make it my avatar until after the 11th.
I only wish I could take the Scottish part off the flag in protest at them letting that bastard out out jail...

Laurie, I truly respect yours and others feelings here as far as being "Flag Waving Patriots" and I also respect your right to post topics like this one and also your right to your own beliefs..:)

That said though, for a multitude of my own reasons, I will not be participating here as a "Flag Waving Patriot" but rather as a citizen of the world who still to this very day remembers and empathises with the families of all of those that had their lives prematurely ended on that sad, sad day.

Approximately 70-75 percent of the questions posed by the non-partisan 9/11 Family Steering Committee (FSC) were not answered by the 9/11 Commission in its Report. How many of those families that lost loved ones do you still believe are "Flag Waving Patriots" ?

In all due respect to you Laurie, IMO, you are actually making it a political statement here instead one of solidarity by asking people to display a flag (US Flag) in particular that is, that 70% of those families of the victims no longer hold dear because of all the unanswered truths that are still to this day embedded deep in their memories.

So I hope you too can respect my reasons here for not proudly displaying our flag. IMO, we no longer live in the same world that our dear parents did and everything is not always as it seems to appear in the mass media outlets.

Hope you understand and can also respect my thoughts on this matter, as I now will withdraw from your thread here. Just wanted you to understand why I would not be displaying a flag here since you asked.

Never offended me at all Laurie, just an issue that I will never forget since I lost a loved one there. You did not need to change your "Flag Avatar" on my account. I Actually didn't have to look at the list since I have been well versed and studied in this topic since day one, but I did anyway... but just to state who and where, this is the actual list: :)

Nothing is wrong with showing respect for those that passed away. You might actually see and read in my post where I refer to that and the loved one I lost there if you can bother yourselve to go back and re-read it thoroughly and try to not act like an ass everytime you make a post!

For reasons you are not privy to, I will let you ask Laurie why I posted here. Is that ok with you boss? Also you can read the last sentence of my first post here in this thread and you will see where I state "Just wanted you to understand why I would not be displaying a flag here since you asked".

Just incase you can not figure out who the "You" is in that sentence, it is Laurie.

Also notice the part where I said "since you asked".

I even color coded those for you, for ease in understanding!

you always look for the bad well some one did some thing good an you put your conspiracy theory veiws in it sad really sad

There were absolutely no conspiracy views in anything that I wrote there, only published facts, and you would realize that if you could bother yourselve to do a little due-diligence and research on your own before spouting off your nonsense!

you ruined a good an honorble thread IMO

Cindy

Thanks for your comments and views here Cindy, much appreciated. Please remind me of this post here the next time I decide to feel sorry for you and give JHV Neg Rep for speaking to you the way he did here https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/jhv-the-movie.32810/

I for one am delighted to see anyone who chooses to participate put up their respective flag(s). Absolutely nothing political about it for me. More like the spirit of unity through diversity I get when I watch the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. There will always be regional differences but I think I am safe in saying that we all feel sorrow at the loss of life that took place. Thanks for the nudge Miss Laurie.

Well put, Cyn!!!

And Lauriejim, this thread is a fantastic idea. We need always remember, no matter where you are from, no matter your political persuasion.

An email I got

As most of you know, Brandon, Michael and I lost a very good friend, uncle and Godfather on this horrendous day 8 years ago. It's still hard for us because we never found the remains or personal belongings of Paul (Tegtmeier). Please join in on this proposal and think of us on Sept. 11.
Regina

THE PROGRAM:

On Friday, September 11th,
2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home,
apartment, office, and store in the United States . Every
individual should make it their duty to display an American flag
on this
eighth anniversary of
one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to
honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their
families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain,
and those who today are fighting at
home and abroad to
preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and
months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as
citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood
shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have
all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough
times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in
solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and
together we can prevail over terrorism of all
kinds

Action Plan:

So, here's what we need
you to do .
Fly an American flag
of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag
year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your
participation. God Bless You and God Bless America

"The Constitution only
gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself ."
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN.

I don't see any politics here. It was very sad day for America and for the whole world. I put my country's flag on the avatar.

Obama in tribute to 9/11 victims

US President Barack Obama has paid tribute to the victims of the 11 September 2001 attacks.

Nearly 3,000 people died when the four planes crashed in New York, at the Pentagon and in a Pennsylvania field.

Speaking at the Pentagon on the eighth anniversary, Mr Obama vowed to "never falter" in pursuit of al-Qaeda.

As the ceremonies were held, it was reported that the US Coast Guard was conducting a training exercise on Washington DC's Potomac River.

Earlier reports suggested that shots were fired at a suspicious vessel on the river, but officials from the Department of Homeland Security denied this, telling the BBC the Coast Guard exercises were a daily occurrence.
