I was just playing Starstruck at 3Dice and wondering about the laws around using actual film clips in a slot. (Perhaps also about using the likenesses of real people - as with the Payola slot).
When MG produces a movie tie-in slot for example, some kind of notice seems to usually be there saying "New Line Cinema - all right reserved" or something like that.
Are these slots all officially licensed, and if so, does this affect the payout? I think I remember reading that movie/game tie-in slots have a lower payout percentage because they have to recoup the cost of the licensing fees.
