Player wins over $5.5 MILLION at Blackjack Ballroom Online Casino

Turku, Finland 22 April, 2008 -- BlackjackBallroom.com has made a VERY lucky player an incredible $5,556,753.68 richer.
Klaus E., from Finland became an instant millionaire last Friday when he placed a $0.50 bet on the Mega-Moolah Progressive Slot Machine and walked away $5.5 million dollars richer. He couldn't believe that he had won and says he was stunned and shocked and "my hands were shaking!" He hopes to pay off his apartment and go on a vacation as the first of many things he can do with his huge online casino win.
A CasinoRewards representative has said, "Klaus has just become part of an elite community of online casino players who have 'hit it big' and joined the exclusive CasinoRewards Millionaires' Club. We congratulate him on his win and look forward to joining him in his celebrations."
Blackjack Ballroom online casino is a proud partner of the long established CasinoRewards group, who has been in operation since Septemb er, 2000 and has a total of 18 popular online casinos under its loyalty program. CasinoRewards.com is part of the Microgaming community and this jackpot win has been the biggest for both established groups. Klaus has become the 4th Member of the CasinoRewards Millionaires club, and brought the total progressives wins across the CasinoRewards Network to over $27 Million Dollars!
Roger Raatgever, CEO, Microgaming, says, "Those that say thirteen is an unlucky number have only to take one look at Klaus E. who not only becomes the Microgaming Progressive Jackpot's thirteenth millionaire, but by far and away the biggest jackpot winner we've ever had. Mega-Moolah has been tantalising players for months now and its finally delivered on a massive scale - with $5,556,753.68 being one of the largest payouts this industry has ever seen."
Arrangements are currently being made to fly Klaus to Sydney, Australia where he will be presented with a check of his winnings and celebrate what is the biggest win in Blackjack Ballroom's history. His win proves that when luck strikes, it hits hard and you don't have to play big to win big!
With more than just online blackjack, Blackjack Ballroom features over 250 games including progressive jackpots, table games, slots and card games catering for every player.

I'm wondering if Casino Rewards is planing to pay this guy 2k a week - a stunt they tried to pull a couple of years ago with a Major Millions Progressive Jackpot winner.

You saying they do this &^%$ to pull people in?
Do you have a story on the last one they did afew years back?
And if any feedback was said on that story.

hmmmm

These big online wins always get me thinking some non-patriotic thoughts. Since it is not a U.S. company paying the win, I guess they would not report the transaction to the I.R.S. That would leave it up to me to inform the i.r.s. about my win, hmmm..I wonder, if I were ever that lucky, how I could get the 'entire' amount into my hands without triggering a u.s.a. banks requirement to report the transactions. Off-shore accounts still possible? Smaller...and many under $2,500.00 seperate deposits each week into many different bank or land based casino accounts? I am sooo sorry if I've offended anyone by this nefarious thought but I just want it all without the jail time.
But, I'm pretty sure I will never have this big decision to make.

Swiss bank account opened thru PayPal perhaps? Not that I've given it any thought mind you...:D

Sux for that guy. I'll bet when he shows up he'll either disappear or die of some mysterious illness, if they haven't already found out how he violated the terms and conditions.

It would be a real bummer if Casino Rewards did decide to pay this guy out in small monthly tranches (impractical, too from the recipient's perspective) and I really hope that is not the case - it is, after all, a progressive and therefore comes out of a pool and not one casino's resources.

Several years ago I recall when the first of these huge millionaire wins occurred on Major Millions; the winner and his wife were flown to the Australian base of the casino, where the owner treated them royally (partying in Sydney; fishing on the Great Barrier Reef etc etc) before flying the couple to Monte Carlo for a luxury long weekend as honoured guests in one of the top hotels there.

They really made it the big occasion that such a rare windfall deserves.

This was it:

I was mistaken, it was 4k a week not 2k. The problem with this is that the progressive funds are pooled and do not come from the casino itself. If the funds sit in a players account, the player will (in most cases) play these funds back into the casino - and these funds were never there to begin with. Do you follow me? It's 100% unethical.

I gave a heads up to MGS when this happened and as far as I know, the player was paid in full.

Well when you get time, you may want to read the TIV/Rivals thread as I just had deja vu (very similiar tactic wise especially pursuant to intent but the devil is in the details)....May I quote the bolded above of your post and of course acknowledge the source???

Sorry - apples and oranges, dude.

The funds coming from a progressive jackpot win, like in this situation, are pooled from all operators on a monthly basis. When a player wins the jackpot at xyz casino, and cashes out, the casino only loses the player's deposit - not the $5 mill whatever. But the funds pass through the casino and into the player's casino account.

When the player cashes this out, the casino has no right (IMO) to delay or make stipulations on these funds since this is not the casino's money. The TIV thread is a different situation - it's the casino's money.

:p *cough-cough*
And.. I get excited winning a few bucks.. haha

Gratz to em, I say!! Now, to rub up against em, for that luck they have ;)

I certainly saw the difference that you refer to and thus said simliar in tactic as to intent (avoid having the make pay-outs on large wins ((but I understood the means of obtaining the flow of funds are apples and oranges)) the with the devil being in the details. (TandC's,PM's,Screenshots et al). I will cease as maybe you will be interested in the devil of the details later and sorry for the derail but I also believe and know as others there is an ethics issue in both although apples and oranges.
