Morning guys,

I have been using Paypal for some time with a few different casino's and never had a problem other than having to send screenshots of my papal account for verification but for the last 2 days i am getting an error when depositing. It is a problem on paypal's side as i get the same error with Videoslots and Leovegas. Any help appreciated. Here's a screen grab of the error. Screenshot 2023-04-05 at 08.09.59.png

I used paypal last night on VS np, if you have credit card registered in Paypal remove it coz you cant make deposit with Credit card

Nope no credit cards, i have a Nationwide debit, Nationwide bank account linked and Chase card. Its been fine with all them on for last 12-18 months.

Paypal have become terrible lately.I used to be able to have my bank account debited immediately after depositing at all casinos and ebay payments but now it can take a week before they take the money and your account can go overdrawn without you realising it. I stopped using my debit card as primary choice of payment and just use my bank account, but it's made no difference. I've stopped using it for now as it's not good enough for me. Leo Vegas were the first I noticed it with so wont deposit with them now.

I only use paypal for all my casino transactions. Deposited last night, no issues, not at VS or LV though. Maybe chase it up with Paypal. Good luck.

I see this occasionally and simply retrying with the card it just goes through. I think it's do with how some of your internet traffic is routed and temporarily you look like a foreign customer.

Same thing happened to me. They were letting me deposit money (thankfully only very small amounts like a tenner here and there) on a couple of my sites that I didn't actually have in my paypal OR bank account at the time-this had never been a problem before and since I knew (or thought I knew) they wouldn't take funds I didn't have, I assumed I must have money in my paypal. I've now had to block those two sites it let me deposit onto for the time being just in case. I also have to be very careful I check I have funds to play with instead of assuming if a payment went through I had money in my account. I just wonder why they changed things, I was very happy with paypal before this but as a potential compulsive gambler who controls it by not having a way I can spend funds I don't have, this is a bit of a worry.

There shouldn’t be a delay if paying with debit card, it’s instant. The only time I’ve heard of PayPal clearing a payment late is if they’ve pre-authorised (i.e fronted the money themselves) when paying via a bank debit. They’ll only do this with accounts in good standing i.e no history of missing payments etc.

Could it be that when you deposited your default funding source (card) was temporarily unavailable or did not have the requisite funds and thus PayPal paid with your secondary method of payment?

@Mr_Slot5 it only happens on the sites where it has the little box you can tick that says "skip paypal confirmation page" so it just like goes through automatically (up to about £40 a day) even though you have no funds in paypal or the bank account attached to it (I use one account for most of my gambling). I just remembered I had 3 sites it did this on-I have taken a break from two of them and put a deposit limit on the other one because I don't trust myself not to take advantage of this "loophole". I've quit slots as well, so I should be ok as they are the thing I find hardest to control by far. But I don't want to take any chances, too easy to get in trouble and think "ah I'll have the funds by the time paypal trys to take the funds out" and I don't wanna live like that. I don't know what's changed or why but I don't think paypal did this before this year.

Yeah, if your account is in good standing you can in effect deposit 100 quid with zero in your bank, to come out via Direct Debit. Though IIRC they use open banking to monitoring amounts in the selected accounts i think.

Can be easy to get caught out - i think it was Grosvenor i played at and thought it was taking from my card: i did wonder why there was about 300-400 quid more in my account until the debits came out a few days later.

I've been reading up about it a bit and it seems people have been able to do this with paypal before this year and to the tune of hundreds/thousands. I'm thanking my lucky stars I haven't got into that much of a mess and I've put measures in place on my sites. Maybe I'll go back to just using my bank account-they won't pay anything if no funds. Paypal was really handy but not if it's a risk of not taking money out til later and getting in negative balance because of it.

To think I won a 10k JP (not on slots) in Dec and pissed it all away (on slots) and just 3 months later I was briefly in debt to paypal. Bastard slots. Am looking at it as a good thing though-wake-up call big time. Thank god I only mainly lost winnings and saw how quick money can go, even I didn't think I could spend so much so quickly, costly lesson. Could've done so much with that money but hey ho that's gambling for ya.

Sorry to derail your thread OP-paypal has been working for me ok.

You can't really get into any mess, PayPal will only allow it with customers who are in good stead i.e have no history of allowing their PP account to go 'overdrawn'. It will also allow only a couple of transactions through that way. Every so often it will demand access to open banking too, before authorising any payment.

I'm guessing the people you speak of where it has let larger amounts through are people with business accounts and/or people who have demonstrated previous ability to clear the payments.

Quick update, been playing around with different ways of depositing but its hard as i have limits on sites and regardless of if the payment goes through it comes off my daily limit. I have found that connecting to a UK VPN (and im in UK) allows me to deposit so it must be something to do with traffic routing.

RESOLVED! Checked my ip address and it was showing i was on vodafone fibre in wales! im not in wales.. refreshed connection and its now showing im in warrington, im not in warrington either but at least im back in england and deposits work again through paypal.

@Mr_Slot5 That's a relief thanks! Yeh if I'm depositing a large amount it will usually go to the banking page (but those days of putting £500 on at a time are gone that's for sure). I do wanna keep using paypal it's just easier and I don't like my bank seeing so many betting transactions. Although I've cut way down now.
@Damo ah mystery solved-great! They always get my location wrong too I've never had Wales before though. I'm in the Midlands but they always tell me someone has logged in from Manchester 🤔

Paypal from a business perspective is absolute garbage.

- High fee's
- Random delay up to 3 weeks before you can access it
- A typical US product

Ive got scammed once, ive had to wait up to 3 weeks to even recieve the money from Paypal back to my account.

Hi, i’m looking for a bit of information regarding a withdrawal if anyone would be kind to point me as to what will happen, I withdrew money from MR Q however it says that ‘your withdrawal could not be processed by the provider’ i’m just looking to see if anyone has experienced this and what actually happens, how would i go about receiving my funds?

Mr Q send payment same way you made deposit, sometimes they have problem, they will give you other option to withdraw, if you made deposit via Mobile change withdraw to card or paypal, or you had old account and reopen new account so they may refuse you payout for multi account holding

I do not have any other account, I’ve went to live chat and they say they are having withdrawal issues. I withdrew money about 20 mins before this withdrawal and it was processed fine. I withdraw all money onto my card, i always have, I never use paypal or any other account. Just hoping it’s an internal issue with MR Q

Update-I was in debt with paypal 150 to begin with, paid most of it off-they sent it to debt collectors for a measly £30. 90 days weren't even up which is what I thought it had to be before they took this action. Apparently they can do it anytime over 35 days, I did not know this. They said it might've happened because I hadn't contacted them through ALL their emails and calls-that's because I thought I had 90 days and I'd paid most of it off and them harassing me couldn't make me pay it any quicker. Apparently this affects credit score too, can't believe it. Just a heads up for anyone else. I'm sorry I know I have a problem but they shouldn't have taken funds that weren't in my bank account only to try and take them later and then bounce them back and forth with my bank so I didn't know where I was for days/weeks.
