In land-basd casinos you can expect somewhere around 89% on nickel bets, 92% on quarter bets and 95% on dollar bets. I'm wondering if this progression seems to apply online. Actually I wonder if it's reversed to protect the casinos from an occassional huge win.

The reason for my question is that I seem to win more often with penny or nickel bets than quarters. Im never going to get a $1000 spin win at this level but my balance seems grow slowly but surely (I know it shouldn't but surviving on a very modest bankroll until the bonus rounds hit seems to require this strategy). If I switch to quarters the bonus rounds seem much less frequent. Maybe it's just perception or a coincidence, but I'd wonder what experience others have had.

Difficult to say as the software operators don't advertise their payout percentages on individual games (a recent point of contention!). But i'd be surprised if that was the case online to be honest.

Although I could not confirm, I don't believe this is the case. I generally believe it still is random regardless of the bet. I have also experienced this perception (difficulty hitting feature or bonus round at higher bet) but I have found that at times if I am winning at lower bet (0.001x25), I continue winning even when I raise my bet. I will add that even though I may not see the features as often I tend to win more during the feature round to help offset the cost. Just better be sure you have worked your bankroll up to a high enough level at the lower bet to see you through to the feature rounds or it can bleed you dry pretty quick. Sometimes this takes a lot of patience.

Bonus rounds aren't won as often at higher coin levels due to amount of play. The penny version of thunderstruck game gets thousands of more dollars of play than say the quarter version. More play = more in reserve for bonus spins = bonus spins appearing more often.

Very seldom have I started at low roller and increased my coin size and continued to win.

I've said this a lot of times, and I think it's true. The coin value really doesn't matter... It's just that you play more at lower denominations, and hence hit things more often. Moreover, you're more conscious of the number of spins/bankroll depleting when you're at higher stakes - so it doubles the psychological interpretation of the odds.

I've hit good wins at high stakes too often to think it's rigged. One that sticks in my mind is a four wilds at Ladies Nite, IMMEDIATELY I flicked the bet up to 9... First spin! It's happened a lot. It's happened the other way too.

Gamblers have great throught processes I find - It's fascinating!
