Right now I am just a beginner and not very good at this game.. For me, poker is the most difficult game I have ever tried. I play it often and fail to win the game. I feel like a stupid after trying ovcer it again and again. I feel so disappointed.

Can you share your experience with me! Kindly guide me in the right direction.

Any help or tips would be great. Thanks in advance!

Practise Practise Practise Practise, Go on free poker sites play for fun, the more you play the better you become at understanding the game better. Why poker is skilled based its also luck, But unlike lot of casino games you wont win with just luck. I have been playing since I was 13 On facebook and 18 for real money, Only past few years is where I have been winning anywhere from 100-1000 Player tournaments and Also making the Final table. I am in profit when it comes to poker this year by a bit, But this didn't just happen overnight. You have to have decent maths skills also to understand how many outs there are the % of hitting on the river and turn, what hands beat you, whats the chances of that player having a better hand, Noticing betting patterns with players and then the biggy deciding when to bluff and when to call a bluff. I still to this day have days where I play stupid and call hands when I should fold and fold when I should call, Even the pros have some terrible days.

I would also suggest going and watching some poker games on Youtube from the World Series
What is it exactly you find hard about poker.

Poker and video poker are two very different games. For normal poker (against other people) you could check the twoplustwo forums or try to find a good book. Maybe someone on the forums could recommend something. The simplest strategy is to only play the strong hands and raise when you play them.

For video poker, I think most people just memorize what's best to do in different situations - the same as a blackjack basic strategy card. Either that or they just play incorrectly and don't care. There might be some mental methods that people use to figure stuff out, but most of the complicated stuff is done with computers. A search engine could probably get you to some correct strategies or tools for video poker.

Video poker is just about memorising and following a strategy. There are some strategy decisions but I find it a very boring game, kind of like roulette. At least with other table games like blackjack/3cp the strategy feels a bit more involved and your bet can vary throughout a game round. Slots don't have a strategy, true, but the graphics and features keep innovating to keep things fresh. Some of these video poker games look like they're from the 90s!

Anyway - sorry to rain on your parade. Poker on the other hand, I do enjoy a lot (but am crap at) :D

Great username always gives me a  when I see it.

I'm not a Gold member, I still get a ton of value out of the site from the free practice games, the quizzes, and the discussions in the forum. I highly recommend you check out *snip* Australian Mobile Gambler to improve your game and meet fellow fans.
