Hey all,

you know how lucky 2014 has been for me. With the 150'000$ Jackpot at CasinoEuro and winning the Raffle at the same casino for the Caribbean Cruise i came to the decision that i will not push my luck further for the next time. I will stay active, and i will also not close my accounts, but i've decided to stop online gambling for a while. There's so much i want to do in the next time i haven't had enough time because i focused on online slots... I have a beautiful PS4 i didn't even really touch, then there's a lot of vacation planned etc.

I will still stay active in the forum etc. and i may gamble again sometimes in the future, but for the time being i think i shouldn't push my luck too far.

Cheers!

Hoff

Same here...6 months break. Not that I had a devastating run or anything but I promised my SO that I'd do it so I'm doing it.

I'll keep coming here though.

Cool Balthazar! Yeah for me to be honest, the biggest reason is not only that i was lucky, but also that i just want to do other things... I still went out with my friends often etc. but still also invested lots of time gambling online, and i just want to give it a break for now... Be prepared though that i will start posting more landbased wins in the near future ;-) chchch

you two have beaten up the casinos slots and thus deserve a well earned break,
this gives other players a chance to win some jackpots/big wins, while you are resting on some tropical island somewhere spending your winnings.
enjoy your break guys you earned it.

Great decision! Hope you'll enjoy your PS4 as much as I do ;)

Glad to see that you'll continue to be active on CM. I always enjoy you´re posts.

Take your winnings and run for the hills, hoff1985! A good idea. You probably feel a bit like a World Cup winner after that prolific year. Enjoy your break, it sounds like you've earned it. :)

Yeah it was insane... There's a thread about it: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/omg-huge-jackpot-win-at-casino-euro.62936/?t=62936

Don't worry... I always visited landbased casinos often, will not blow all away.... :)

I must of seen the post as on the last page as I thumbs up to chayton about how to multi quote, do not remember, Did the government get there greasy hands on any of the pie or was tax free? I remember some person winning something and treated there self to a top hat but pretty sure that was not you.

Yeah as in Switzerland the tax rules are that if you win in a casino abroad you will be taxed for the winnings as it's normal income. And you can also not count losses. So it was basically my yearly income + the 150'000, and due to our beautiful progressive tax system a person earning more will be taxed at a higher rate.... I can tall you i pad ten-thousands of Euro taxes... But yeah, i will not complain!!

certainly not complain as a good win is better than no win even with tax, But as you said they not count losses which is not really fair, But when has the government been fair? I do not no what you have over there as to we call government, There all bull shit money grabbers any way, Claiming expenses for items such as pay as per view films, rent for staying at family's house why renting there own pad in London, Petrol when they do not even drive & thats just some of the rubbish thats come out, On top of there wage packet, Its a disgrace and we went threw 2 world wars to end up in a shit hole like this U.K,

sorry to go of topic and rabbit on, I get frustrated sometime about the way U.K has become & wish I had no part in this country as its a shamble & disgrace.

Nearly forgot, also the 15% tax they have put on casinos & such results in aload of casinos pulling from U.K & cutting down on bonus ect

You look a bit young for that spintee!
At least we can win unlimited amounts and pay no tax though. ;)

Just abit :) My ancestors was not & put there life on the line for what?

NO TAX, Great stuff in that respect, Only one problem low? Got to win first :D

After one week of no slots, i decided to maybe place once a week or so. I just like it too much, and i realized once again that landbased Casinos just don't like me as much as online casinos do when it comes to winning :) So you may experience some screenshots in the winner thread in the near future, although not as much as i've used to produce :)

PS: Only 3 weeks left until i'm going to my caribbean cruise i won at CasinoEuro, i will definitely send you some sweet update from over there :)

Cheers

Looking forward to hearing how your caribbean cruise goes, not been on one of them before.

Just on your point on land based v's online. RTP's have to be lower (as in worse) in landbased casinos, just to cover the overheads that these guys have. There is a lot more expense with running a land based casino, compared with running an online casino.

Yeah i always believed that i don't feel the RTP but often in landbased casinos i do feel it... And i still have the impression that it is much harder to trigger a feature in the landbased casinos.

Yeah, they drop right down. I was looking at some Barcrest slots, like Rainbow Riches and Monty's Millions and they were round the 90% mark in a casino in London. That 5% drop can make a big difference!

Have a good one, Did you get any spends chucked in with that? Or have I asked that already :)

Yes, similar here... I thought i've heard once that they need to be at least 90% in Switzerland, but i'm not totally sure.

Be careful guys...

Just because slots are online, it doesn't mean that the payouts will be better. As I posted here, a lot of the traditional land-based manufacturers have moved their slots online, but the RTP is still in the same range as you find in the land-based casinos. Please don't assume that online slots pay better than their physical cousins & the hard to hit features offline will be just as elusive.

Yeah i think the main thing is not the RTP, but the possibility to switch slots faster and also in my case... When i'm 500 up or something i usually cash out online, but when i'm in a landbased casino the chance is high that i stay longer and loose more again :)

Yes, I agree, it takes a couple of minutes to check, so you should never assume. However, I have spent a lot of time looking over lots of publicly available RTP's and in general they are higher online than in land-based. Not all, but most.

I have also seen lots of examples where different online casinos can have slight changes in RTP on the same slot. Some slot manufacturers allow a bit of variation in the RTP a casino can offer.
