Hi All,

Just thought I'd ask people thoughts with regards to online chat.
I literally just had an hour's conversation with a very nice lady by the name of Daniela over at Casino Splendido. I often get on live chat for whatever reason and just start chatting with the staff about anything and everything.
Of course you get the ones who say " can I assist you with anything else" after each sentance and you know they are either busy or have to wrap the chats up quickly once the customer is satisfied.
But sometimes you get ones who have relaxed bosses and they can have a good old chin wag with you.

About 2 years ago when I was working night shift at Centrebet this person came on live chat that just signed up- the way he talked really reminded me of someone in this forum and when I happended to see the name he put in which was SKINY ( yes we all know skinny here) I actually asked in live chat- " hey you wouldnt happen to be a member at a place called Casinomeister would you. and he goes "how did you know that" and I said becuase I can tell by your name and the way you are talking/typing to me. He asked who I was and told him same_old and we had a great old chat- I asked him to comment on the software and overall view of the place and in perfect Skiny form I got some pretty humerous answers from him. He made the shift enjoyable so thats why I like talking with the online chat staff sometimes but always make sure to ask that Im not getting them into trouble for doing so.

Funny that you would run into Skiny there:)

I agree, i also like to chat away sometimes, and have had some memorable chats..
There's no bigger turn off to me then a lazy or unfriendly or generic chat when looking for new casinos.
I really base a lot on what kind of platform/outfit i'm dealing with, just by the info and helpfulness i encounter in chat, and if all is sufficient, and the rep is friendly or funny or both too, i'm very willing to give er a spin or two:)

What irked me in the past is that so many casinos seemed to not understand this basically.
Some still don't. Sometimes you can notice they are just chatting you into a bonus/depositing, and you just know what kinds of personnel, and managers your dealing with.
If they are good, helpful and sincere, then the deposits will follow undoubtedly, at least that's how it works for me.
And as you said, i really enjoy just some plain old funny banter too. it can definitely make for a good nights fun, whilst spinning!

I've had some good chats in the past - one support lady at 32Red from around 2006/7 remains a Facebook banter contact to this day!

I always wondered though, if you are a chat rep and you get someone that is wittering away - or perhaps seems a bit odd - when you have other stuff you need to do, how do you end that politely without making them feel unwanted? It must be a hard balancing act sometimes.

I'd be a rubbish chat rep to be honest. If anyone started getting rude over a problem or a bonus I'd lose my job in moments. I have total respect for support bods (most of them anyway!) - must be the job from hell sometimes.

slightly off topic, but you just reminded me of a story from my own past. ... cue wavey lines....

Many many years ago I was a callcentre employee for 'Bord Gas', the irish central gas/heating supplier company. Bottom level phone jockey, nothing too exciting. One day I get a call from a customer who's just moved house and needs to transfer the bill across. Right away, her voice is familiar. I said nothing and starting taking her details to open the new account, starting with her name and prior address. That clinched it. I not only knew this girl, but had dated her for a few weeks back when I was 16 :) We had not spoken since then. Time to have some fun.

So I begin to ask her 'standard security questions' to make sure I have right right person. Started off with date of birth and the like, but quickly got more interesting. ''Says here on our file that you went to Santa Sabina High school, is that correct?' ... 'Ummm, yes, it is''. ''Great, it also says on your file that you were suspended for a week in your final year.. is that also corect?'' ... ''OMG yes... it really says that??!!'' ... ''Yes ma'am, our records are very thorough. It says here you were drunk on school property. Tut tut!''.... ''OMG, how do you know all this? '' ...... It also says here you dated a lot of boys from the local mixed school. Is this true?'' ..... long pause..... 'Ian?'... 'Yeah, it's me'' lol... 'You Ba***d! I was freaking out!!''

Lots of fun :)

Back on topic, yeah it can be good to have some banter with CS but as Same-old said just keep an eye out for hints it's time to go ;) I've had some great long chats with players in my time. Some I've gotten to know really well, but on the flip side there were some that made me wince 'Oh no, not HIM... I'm supposed to go home in an hour!'' :)

I so much hate livechat.
From the beginning it was the language that was the biggest problem. I had no clue what they were talking about, and it took a long time to learn and understand all in this gambling word. I didn't understand common polite expressions even, just the word please that I've learned in school.
Please, support people. You have to understand and be extra careful and patient when explaining to people like me:)

Also I constantly have the thought that they are in a hurry and don't want to talk to me, so I'm always trying to end the chat as fast as possible.
If I really want to say anything I send a mail.
Maybe I'm the one that's really rude. I'll better think that over :eek2:

i'm curious can those chat rep jobs be done from your home or do you need to be at a central place of baseness ??
