One bet at 9/1...

Quick question!

You've got 1000, and you need to make it 9000. You only get one 'go' on one casino game. The odds have to be 9-1, and you only get one shot at it! Now you could split four numbers at 250 each on a Roulette table (even though online casinos won't let you do that), or maybe just one of the 'sic bo' permeatations. Either way - it's one shot at hitting 9000 from a 1000 stake...

What do you pick, and where do you do it?

There's a bit of fun/good reason why I ask, and will take the best suggestion and do it (with a slightly smaller amount, just used 1000 as an example).

Thanks in advance!

First thing to do is take a maths lesson!
To turn 1000 into 9000 the odds only need to be 8/1 :D

As your 1000 is only theoretical, and your actual figure is much lower, then Roulette is your game (again!)

I'm sure someone will post soon telling you which casino has table limits high enough.

If not, please send me your 1000, and I promise there will be a 1 in 8 chance that I will send you 9000 back! :p

What about Bolton for the premiership? Oh, sorry, I'm getting confused with 9000/1 :p Hee hee..

We talked about the horses, but they don't really do anything for me... Hmmm... Needs to be a casino thing really.

I think there re a lot of casinos offering single-number bets in your range. I'm pretty sure most Crypto's do....

Isn't the tie-bet in Baccarat around 9 to 1? That's a horrible bet though, so I wouldn't recommend it.

It is!!! That'd be more sickening than nerve racking!

Favourite at the minute seems to be roulette... We've been doing that for three weeks now though and got a bit bored. Was maybe looking for something a bit more exciting.

Cut a long story short, we've been given the opportunity to buy-in to something (a tournament), that'll cost 450x9 (well it's 4000, but what's 50 between friends..). We reckon it's a little bit steep to put all that money up ourselves, but don't mind giving that a crack on one shot - and if it's to be, it's to be. If it doesn't come in, we weren't destined to take part anyhow! We're taking the 450 out of our roulette winnings anyhow, and it's a good decider for us as to if we take part in the tournament or not!

Hard 6 or 8 bet in Craps is 10 for 1 (same thing as 9 to 1).

Another sucker bet, but so are all the other bets going 9 to 1.

Baccarat tie bet is usually 8 to 1, but sometimes you can find a 9 to 1.

Any Roulette betting (double zero) - 5.26% house edge
Any Roulette betting (single zero) - 2.70% house edge
Hard 6 or 8 craps bet - 9.09% house edge
Baccarat tie bet (8 to 1) - 14.36% house edge
Baccarat tie bet (9 to 1) - 4.80% house edge
Big Six $10 (10 to 1) - 18.52% house edge
Sports bet - obviously depends on the casino/oddsmaker

I can't think of any other bets that could qualify. My pick is a sports bet or (believe it or not), the Baccarat tie bet if you can find one that pays 9 to 1. Or if you're extremely lucky to find a single zero roulette wheel, that looks to be the best bet so far.

Good luck
