The only poker room that I am aware of that does not require an application download is PokerRoom.com

Does anyone know of any others?

A couple of reasons for preferring applet-based rather than application-based sites are [1] usable from non-Windows platforms (mac, linux, etc.), and [2] privacy/security (Java applets run in a restricted sand-box so cannot access other files and data on the computer nor can they easily compromise the system's security).

Checknraise.com is another applet based room, they are currently having a 100% match bonus. Unfortunately, there aren't alot of players at the site.

I was asked to review this site and have tried 5 or so times and the applet will not launch so I gave up.

When I was reviewing another site betonbet.com is a sportsbook that feeds into WSEX poker network since Poker Network merged with them. They have a no download version. It was average at best and you may find other rooms on this network that have no download.

If you run a mac Victoria's Poker had mac supported software but their room is a virtual ghost town.

Pokerroom.com is a great no-download room.

www.pacificpoker.com also has a no-download client. Be warned however that the games there are incredibly loose. Normally a good thing, but if you cannot handle volatility, they are not for you. They also have a 7 day wait period attached to cashouts, which is inexcusable.

Of the two, I definitely prefer www.pokerroom.com.

www.24hpoker.com has a downloadable java client and a bunch of insane scandanavians playing some hard-core pot limit games, if what you need is multi-platform support.

Hi,
PokerRoom is the only halfway decent one I know of. Pacific Poker claims to work for Mac's but I can never get the no download version to work no matter what computer I'm at...it always comes up as a blank screen.
Thanks,
Heather
