In light of what is happening, I took my need to feed a slot to a different B&M than I usually go to, am happy to say I played Wheel of Fortune and won 127.00 right off the bat, another 75.00 on various slots, came home with $75 after lunch! Not bad, instant cash out. Hope my luck holds...:) Anyone else decide to go this route until things settle down?

*Gasp* Did they want to search you on the way out and accuse you of being part of a group, working with that little old lady two slots down perfecting your system to take them for all they are worth. Did they attempt to deny your winnings because you didn't play long enough or get mad that you wanted your winnings as you walked out the door? Come on, who really like going to a B&M casino, half the fun of playing online is the mystery behind if and when you ever will get paid LOL.

I am kidding, congrats on the win :). I never really went to the B&M casinos much before so I doubt I will go any more or less now. I will probably go back to day trading which is a lot like playing let em ride at the online casinos so I doubt I will miss it much.

Yes I plan to make a local Indian casino my new weekend getaway. It's new and very much like the Vegas experience...except they do not serve drinks yet. I played there a week or two ago and won $300. I payed my bank back and kept my winning for my next trip. Same money management style I have used for years (on and off line) and it works well for me. By the way my total 'deposit' was $20!

Gambling trip this weekend!

We are going to put our "two free Sunday brunch buffets" coupon and some $$$ to work at the local Native American casino this weekend. First trip in some time, but I finally have some extra cash to gamble. And I never spend as much at the B & M's under hubby's watchful eye :D

I .

Well, the cashier did scowl at me when I gave her my tickets at cashout...lol
..
I will now become a member of the Casino rewards program at the casinos although because you use a card it may be tempting to go into my payback fund, but, at least I can get some free lunches..
On my first win, I pull the ticket and stick it in my purse..I do this until I have payed back all the money I pulled from my bank account Plus $25. The rest is play money and if I have any left over like yesterday..it's yahoo time!

Casino experience last weekend

Well, we went on one of the casino boats instead, since the Native American casino was hosting a motorcycle rally, not our thing. First trip on the boats in a long time and it will be my last. Went through $100 in about an hour.
I sure do miss the opportunity to play online.

hey there hbears341 -

I am only about an hour and a half from the casinos but I have never been to the ones on the Canadian side.
Which do you play at and are you paid in USD if you play in USD? How does that work? Thanks!!
PS- WTG frufrugirl. You go gf and good luck to all who make the trip to their local B&M casinos!

I went to a B&M casino yesterday in Delaware (spent WAY TOO LONG there because now they are open 24 hours)... I saw even saw shifts change. The best win I had was $300 on the new Jeopardy machine they have (on the second spin, bonus round). I lost, won it back, lost it back... The good thing about B&M casinos is you get your money right away, but can also lose it back right away (next time I'll ask them to write me a check..lol) They have a slew of new machines which look enticing, but I'm not wild about (all digital video type machines you can stop the spin on).

Overall, though, I really really like the odds of winning at online casinos rather than B&Ms...it seems that the odds are triplicate. Online I can deposit $20-50 and stand a great chance of at least tripling it, or ten fold. At B&Ms I can spend $500 and not come back with much, if anything.

Over the weekend, I went to a local Indian casino (actually, several). I was mainly playing blackjack, but one of them had a $20 slot freeplay coupon for new club card accounts ($40 WR before it was credited, lol).

True to bonus-hustling form, I found a nickel video slot with shiney graphics (made by WMS, something about Pegasuses), and start doing dollar spins to grind through the WR, $1 at a time. Hit the bonus feature twice, and between that and the actual freeplay, I made a $80 profit. It was pretty neat. Especially handy since I was getting demolished at the blackjack tables.

Reminds me of BM wifey and i went to. We took like $300, 150 each. I lost track of her (she likes to hide) and when got back home later that week found she had hit the old ATM for about 500 extra while we had been there. Sneaky woman. :)

Trips to the ATM

Back when I was making really big money and we would hit Vegas and Biloxi several times a year, I would make excuses to slip out of hubby's sight to supposedly go to the restroom, the bar, get something up in the room, left glasses in the car, needed a drink of water, you name it, but they were really runs to the ATM machine, usually while I had him watch my machine so he couldn't follow me. :D He will never know how much I used to get since we had separate personal accounts (his idea) for spending money, and that is probably a very good thing. However, when I did win big I took the money (many times I had them write me a check so I couldn't put it back - had hubby hold it for me.) Now I leave the ATM cards and credit cards at home so I won't be tempted, expecially for those casinos that I know don't have good odds. It's just a little pisn-away $$ for the boats and Native American casinos.

Well, the trip didn't turn out as planned. Our goal was to be at Casino Niagara Friday and Saturday, but we were detoured thanks to the 2 1/2 feet of snow in Buffalo!

So we got to the casino for a little bit Sunday. I was down to my last couple quarters when I had a few nice hits. Still ended up down about $50 CDN for the day.

Hoping I'll still be able to play online, because those slots at land-based casinos seem really tight!!

you will get better and faster exchange rate than anywhere else.

You need to realise that it is much harder to win at a B&M casino than online, because when you pu $100 on the table in a B&M casino you only get $100 worth of chips. :) (Unfortunately, this is not original, I think I heard it from clayman.)

Went to the casino this weekend and had a great time! If you guys can find Aztec Riches in you local dive you must try it. IGT machine 25 lines great graphics/music. It has become my top $$ earner. Started out betting .50 and as I kept winning I increased my wager to $5! That is huge for me but I got it up to $1000 and cashed out at $750. Sweet! I miss the online like crazy, but I do like the local casino very much.

My friend and I went to the Casino this weekend too. I went with 150 in my pocket intent on having fun and a nice dinner..went at 2p..it was strangely quiet there..went to my favorite MilkMoney..quickly went thru 20.00 no bonuses coming up..went to my other favorite, has a dancing guy on it when you hit the feature (never learned the name..Dance fever?)..it wasnt hitting either..by 600p I wasnt having fun anymore, down $130, I was intent on keeping $20 in my pocket so I wont feel bad going home. My friend gave me $20, (I used to hand her a $20 ticket when she would bust)..went to Crazy Monkey just for the hell of it, .10 game with 9? lines...I started hitting, got it up to $160 quickly then quit and gave her her money back! I felt soooooo much better. didnt do much better on anything else, tried Cleopatra..nothing much..moved to the right after a player that had been doing well left. Wouldnt you know it, someone sat down in my old spot, 5 spins and hit the feature. I left Cleo.. ouch. Ended up having a nice dinner and went home with $75 still in my pocket so it was ok! We left at 200am..could hardly walk I was so tired. I was hearing bells and feature sounds all night....:) Gotta see if Aztec Riches is at out at our place. Met some nice people from Canada who assured me our Casinos are much much better than theirs..too regulated they say..hmm

I think we just have to give B&M casinos a chance, again. I love them. I mainly play poker there. It tickles me to sit amongst older people and listen to their life stories. There are plenty of free cocktail. The problem with most online players is they are to lazy. The computer is always there in the comfort of their home. But nothing beats the feel of a 5 star hotel room at your favorite casino. The room service menu is awesome. The trips up and down the elevators are cool. I tend to play craps as soon as i walk in the gaming room. And then wonder towards the Poker Room. I like BJ late late at night. You can get more choices of quality tables. I never really play slots. But the B&M is the way to go. You get to spend time on your trip laughing, drinking, smoking, singing, family, friends, etc. There is nothing like the feeling of having your favority buddy with you going into a casino together. You both will have the time of your life whether you win or lose. To be honest with you. I have broken 3 monitors because I was tired of accessing a "RIGGED" online casino program that got 20 and 21 anytime I placed a large bet.

It doesn't bother me to travel 6 hours to the nearest b&m. I look forward to it. Im a VIP and I have been going there for 7 yrs. And everyone in the poker room know me. To be honest with you. i started back online gambling a week ago and have already lost $1100 playing slots chasing a random jackpot or progressive. That money could have went to Mississippi and I woulda got free room and meals from comp play at the Poker Table.

Unfortunatly there are no real casinos even 6 hours away. 9 hours is the closest so we have to play at the Indian casinos (less than an hour) which don't have hotels or free drinks. In fact there are only 2, and they are the furthest away, that even have anything stronger than coke/dr pepper. But I down my cokes with gusto and get so wired by the end of a trip that it's hard to sleep when I get home! But ya know I am having fun at them and realize now how much I have missed the B&M experience.

.

You got that part right! I would have to go to Nevada to play at a real Casino but the indian one we have is big and loud..I think I will save for Reno or Las Vegas...:)

(did you really wreck your monitors?) Ouch!

I'm only about 2 1/2-3 hours from Atlantic City, so I'm guessing I'm going to do most of my gambling down there now. Just received some nice offer for free rooms in November!! :D

The B & M saga continues....and a question about Mississippi casinos

Well, I had to have my gambling fix this weekend and we aren't going to the Native American casino until this coming weekend so I actually played BINGO in my community Friday night. How desperate can one get? (Sorry bingo fans, but the average age at this is particular Bingo is twenty or so years my senior, but it is cheap to play) Anyway, hubby went with me, neither of us won anything until the last game and I got the jackpot of $250 for the coverall. Unfortunately, so did five other people on the same number, so we split it and we each received $45, but I have tucked that away for next week's trip. I will round it up to a hundred or so for the slots. Has anyone been to Biloxi since the Beau Rivage and The Grand reopened? I want to go, getting great offers, but don't want to see the destruction. Feel like I shouldn't be having fun there when others are still hurting.

Darem1, I know how you feel but you need to think about going there in a different way. You are doing your small part in giving these people jobs. If everyone stays away because 'it's too sad' then they can never rebuild. I say go and feel good about helping that business in their time of need....and tip well!
