Ok, so after being gone for the weekend I did stick to my guns and called Netspend letting them know I was reluctant to use their card because so many complaints about double charges. This is what they told me... Netspend DOES NOT overcharge on a prepaid card that it was impossible to overcharge because the transaction would be declined if the funds were not in the account. (that is what I said awhile ago) and they said most likely the charges if doubled the system catches the dual transactions and takes one off and they said it lies on the merchant side, they said sometimes even when the transaction was put in the system if it falls within a time that the system is processing to next cycle it will go in ONCE but shows up as a double transaction without actually going through twice (meaning the casino or Netspend didn't put it through twice but the timing was bad) That would coincide with so many saying Netspend says it's not them and casinos saying it's not them, it really isn't either one but the time frame it went through. (like a ghost charge) That is why if it does show up doubled you see the negative balance falls off WHEN the system catches up and sees it. If you have a double charge I would give the system, I would say, a two week period to give the system time to catch up and I wouldn't use the card within that time frame, if it still doesn't fall off I would call Netspend that's just my opinion. I spoke to Mike at Netspend and he was very sweet and he even reversed charges for me because he said me being a new customer and a first time caller he could do this as a courtesy but after that day if I called I would be charged, that was fine with me. So I told him thank you and I hope I never have to call him related to me being double charged! Remember, if you don't agree with this I am just the messenger don't freak out on me call Mike! lol
