A quick Q to you poker pro's!!

I have read about software that displays players losing mucked cards at showdown, as long as they are included in the hand history.

Wouldn't it be better if any cards documented in the hand history are displayed on screen for all players to see. I think this would make it "fairer" for all players at the table. Its a valuable source of information and if only 2 or 3 of the players can see this they will have a definite advantage I would think.

What do you all think?

By standard casino rules, the losing player has the option to muck their hand if they're last to act. I don't see what the issue is. Isn't there any hands that you've ever lost that you didn't want to show? It goes both ways.....;)

I think the issue is that players can see which hand the opponent mucked, and that this information is a lot more easily available for those who have appropriate software.

Of course this give some players an advantage, but as long as it's allowed, I don't think it is unfair.

Maybe it would be even more fair to show the mucked cards in the client, but I don't want that to happen anyway ;)

Oops, I misread it a little bit.

If a player that's *not* in the pot wants to see these mucked cards (For the software that shows mucked cards in the hand history), they need to call. Why should they get a free look at the cards if they've folded already?

I think it tends to be a client based thing, isn't it?

As far as dealt in players being able to see the mucked cards in the hand histories. ( ie., PokerStars )
Or no one being able to see mucked cards, dealt in or not. ( ie., Prima )
Or anybody being able to, including observers. ( ie., old Party )
