Anybody pay attention to this? I am sure it is probably just some phony thing they slap up there to try to tempt people to throw a bunch of money at a "HOT" slot. Am i right or is there something to this?

You are correct on this. The Thermometer does not, at any degree reflect the chance of hitting a Jackpot.
