I have yet to see any sense to play these unless you are willing to rebuy several times.

It seems like if you are close to winning a paying spot they give you the free spins and cut you off, just to try and make you rebuy. Not just a 2 or 3 tourney observation but 2 or 3 HUNDRED!

Its all designed to DEPOSIT

after 2 months of playing these I wish someone would tell me they won something without a rebuy

Doubt it

One more reason I haven't deposited since November, and probably never will unless it starts being worthwhile for the player

So far it looks like 3Dice is my best bet if I come back to the reels

Jackpot Factory have forgotten I exist!

Try playing the high variance ones, Hitman, Loaded, and particularly Thunderstruck. Don't expect the jackpot, but look for the second best 5OK during free spins, as this hit would be big enough to get a prize without a rebuy.

Look also for tournaments where there are fewer continues. It seems lately that the "free" tournaments offer so many continues that not playing beyond the free round leaves no realistic chance of winning a prize, even if you get the big hit. The addition of rebuys has made things worse, especially when there are dozens of them. Players can effectively buy their way to the top of big prize tournaments, and it is only the low prize ones that those not wishing to pay for continues and deposits should bother with.

I have bought my way to the top several times recently, and without the rebuys, I would probably done far worse if I had to settle for the first round I started with, and just had continues.

Good post in my opinion- I agree with all of it apart from playing at 3-dice---but we won't go there ;)

Anyhoo-- In those MG torny's, I agree that it's very very difficult to win anything much without rebuying..I have won a few of the smaller torny's there but only by rebuying.

I think the best way to play them is see where you are after the free round and perhaps one rebuy round...If you're languishing near the middle/bottom of the leader board then just give it up as a bad job...If it's the opposite and you're in the top 20 or so, try another rebuy.

But it's good business practice from MG if you think about it. None of the rebuy money goes into the prize fund on most of the tornys so they're not losing anything...quite the opposite actually. I think they are there to pull people in, advertising (as they do) that there are 'x' amount of free tornys to win 'x' amount of money.

As long as you're aware as to how these things work, you can chose to play in them or not.

I agree with pmhcfc, if I liked one of the games they have for the tourneys I would definately invest my money in playing for real, plus the casinos make money with the rebuys..very smart these casino's are with their tourneys..

Tourneys and Rebuys

I think you are absolutely right about the tourneys and rebuys. It is apparent to me - playing consistently for MONTHS on end, that if you do NOT rebuy - you have little chance of getting up top. I often wonder just WHAT it really costs to win and though some of the payouts are WORTH the investment, unless you get to the top 5 positions, you have just pissed away your money as I do constantly. Even with add-ons at $10 and $15 a whack, I cannot seem to creep up to the top page and on Loaded am lucky to get into the top 50 where it actually pays. Don't know why I continue to throw my hard earned money away, other than the hope that someday it will be MY TURN to win big. Have been waiting a very long time though!! I want to believe that some day I WILL win the big money, but it's not looking good! I wish they would eliminate that rebuy option to make it more fair, but.... they are obviously "cleaning up" keeping it there. Laura

Here's where I am now in the weekly $10,000, in 2 days I will be out of the money. I will post my results when its over but I already know the outcome unless I buy a continue or a rebuy. I will more than likely be knocked down to almost out by the time I post this, lol.

Its the same with "free" tourneys. They are not free.

I am given these every week by allslots, I do not buy in. I have placed in several free feeders, currently the $15 k, but if I get 3rd or 4th place I am pushed out of the money constantly.

I do not see it changing, I just need to stop playing unless I start rebuying, which I have before, only to have the slot shut down and pay nothing else (sigh)

Maybe one day I will gamble again, but being about even for last year I hate to start it up again given the current situation in the US.

Several months ago, I won a major tournament, $25,000.00 with no buy in. I was so shocked but excited and waited to get an email or whatever. However. Notice how often life gives you a "however" ? When I went back to see what was going on since the tournament had ended with me in first place, the "however" hit me right between the eyes. I saw where the casino stated there had been a malfunction for some of the players so the tournament would be extended for another three days. Needless to say, at the end of the three days and buy ins, my "win" was just another "however" in life.

I no longer play free tournaments. It isn't worth the disappointment . :D

I don't have much use for an MG casino anymore. I do not uninstall them because it may change someday. They are certainly at the bottom of my list.

I still feel they are fleecing America, like sheep.

No progressives can you win but feel free to give us your money so we can pay the other countries that play.

If there's no US play on progressives, then there's no way for US players to contribute to the progressive pool.

Villento has a $100 min cashout? ridiculous.

As for the free tourneys, I few them as glorified practice mode. I don't rebuy, ever.

Many US players contributed to the existing jackpots, and now have no chance of winning them.

I realize that many casinos have minimum cashouts to deal cover processing fees, but IMO $100 is very steep, unless it was because of bonus restrictions.

JMO, but if you are willing to accept a deposit of a certain amount, you should be willing to pay it back.

I like to say that even is just like winning.

True, but all that really matters is if the progressive was available when the bet was made. If, three months ago, you decided that a slot was worth a go when the jackpot was $400,000, then you took your shot, and that's the end of the story. The money contributed to the pool was lost just as much as the money collected by the casino.

It's not productive to view playing the progressive as "investing" in the jackpot, because your individual contribution (and the odds that you'll win it) are both negligible.

Now, if MG still let some people play the progressives, without having a chance of winning, that would be incredibly douchey.

When I saw that free $10 win jump to $70 I immediately tried to cash $50 of it out. The cashier screen denied it and stated there was a $100 minimum. Surprised me also.

What didn't surprise me was how fast it went after the attempted cashout. I low rolled it also, trying to keep as much as possible hoping to hit enough to cash. spin after spin of nothing. switch off!

FACT THAT FREE TOURNEYS HAVE REBUY SHOULD BE A CLUE......

Free tourneys that have rebuy options are not really free and I consider them to be nothing more than the casino attempting to get you to deposit money.

It is my experience that I will hit the bonus round or a big win just as my time is up.

These tourneys include the pay for tourneys are a rippoff and are fixed!
