Has this been won twice in just the last 8 or 9 days?

It was sitting at over 4.2 million last Wednesday. Come Friday evening it was down to just over 2 million.

It was at 2.4 million Wednesday morning. Now it's at 1 million (less than 1.001 million). Which probably means it has been won in the last 10-12 hours.

Given that it would have taken months (maybe a year?) to build it up to over 4.2 million, for it to be won twice in a little over a week seems to be
"surprisingly frequent"?

According to one jackpot tracker site, since December 2009, Mega Moolah has been won 21 times, the average time between wins is 11 weeks 1 day, average win is 2 839 728. But averages are just averages, and since it is random, sometimes it might be 1 week, sometimes over 30 weeks.

The previous hit before these last 2 hits was in December 2013, it took about 25 weeks to build up to that 4.2 million hit.

According to casinolistings progressive tracker

£4,259,527 was won on mega moolah 7d 10h ago and then £2,384,308 was won 18h 1m ago

Times as of 16:00

Seems odd as in the games RTP and player guide, it states when the major jackpot is won, it is reset to £1,000,000. So why did it drop by half before being won and not reset?

None of the big casinos are claiming a jackpot winner just yet.

Unlike NetEnt progressives, which adjust the odds of winning the jackpot based on bet size and account currency, Mega Moolah adjusts the odds according to your bet size, but not for your account currency and to balance this out, it adjusts the jackpot size based on your account currency. If someone with account currency in euros won it, they won €4.2 million, if someone with account currency in pounds won it, they won £4.2 million, if some had USD as their account currency, they won $4.2 million. The fact that it dropped only by half means that it was won by someone with non-pound account currency, maybe dollars or something else.

I never knew that about the currency issue!! Havent heard of anything like that before. Don't progressive jackpots usually allocate a lower percentage of contributions to the NEXT jackpot as well as the one currently being accrued? Or does that not happen with Mega Moolah as it automatically resets to 1 million ...??

Finn (a few posts earlier) is spot-on. All the jackpots are paid in the currency a player wagers in. As such, it is only when a player is wagering in GBP that the jackpots reset to their guaranteed minimum value & these are as displayed in the respective games pay table...

I noticed yesterday while playing my birthday. I deposited when it was over 2 million, and at some point made the decision to play some on the game. I got brave and upped my bet to $3 on TDK and hit the wheel on the first spin. I noticed at that time it was not much over $1M CAD down below and for one brief moment I was hoping it was gonna be my lucky day, lol. I won 10.09. Was a pretty good minor at almost $200 at that point too.

If I recall from the win at Butler's, it was around a week before it was announced, while they did the necessary verifications etc.

Thanks, that explains it!

Think I will avoid the MG progressives for a while :)

FWIW Nicola, I was going to avoid them for a while too. Looks like we made the wrong decision because....

It has just been won again....an hour ago (c.5.40am)

Yeah! I was shocked to see the £1m reset again.

Three millionaires in a short space of time is crazy.

1 day 13h ago - £1,013,791
6 days 21h ago - £2,384,308
13 days 14h ago - £4,259,527

Maybe MG are offloading some money :D

And apparently all 3 were won at spin palace, or so they're claiming

On my night shifts, I play between 4AM and 6AM at lowest bet size and it's quite easy to get around a dozen progressive wins per hour. Never hit the top two yet but I guess at that hour most people are in bed and it's only a handful of people playing!

Secondly, you know of the flaw in the spinning of the wheel? Once I triggered the progressive, I left it several hours before hitting the spin button when the MINOR was up to £863 and still growing. So if you have the nerve, don't be too quick in hitting the spin button. Sometimes even the MINI can get around £50-£60.

Saying that, if you were destined to win £4.7m or something and someone else won while you were waiting you would be rather pissed :p
