Now both of you will have your winnings seized for gambling from the same computer. Ha!

On a more serious note, it does seem that he really is developing a serious gambling problem.

Go kick him to take a vacation somewhere, away from any sort of gambling, for goodness sake.

What an unbelievable shot!!!

There's something strangely beautiful about no fanfare, no flashing lights - just a quarter of a million quid sat in the text at the top, the win window at the bottom - and the credits on the left. Awesome! :notworthy

Just had a glimpse of the screenshot again. Actually, does it mean that the player won $291800 or rather about $58000 since the coin value is 0.20 and he won 291800 credits?

Nope, the full $291,800. ~$40k of that was from the line win itself...

Just had another look at it myself. Is 1 coin (15 lines) the maximum?

I know the feeling!!.....I'm sure alot of people that participate in this forum also know the feeling....

There has been a recent development on his last win I mentioned. The one where he won $25 thousand...
((shaking my head as i type this))....I bet you know what I'm going to write too..huh????

well..HE GAMBLED IT ALL BACK!!....he still has the big win tho..at least for a while..since they withheld the payment on the big one..and are only sending him checks for $4000 each week, he still has this money sitting there...all he has to do is call them and the will reverse whatever amount he asks them to.
I feel a potential problem is around the corner...I've talked to him but we all know how that is...

Hehe, great business plan.

They sure know how to exploit the vulnerable. Forget 24 hr reverse withdrawal, looks like this one will be reverseable for over a year.

I think the family needs to convince him (and sit with him while he does it) to call and strongly urge them to either a) close his casino account there permanantly, or b) ask them not to allow any more reversals...

Would definately be in his best interest.

Yeah, if you can't control it, definitely close it down. Casinos bank on your addiction to the win. If you want to continue playing, I suggest doing it at another casino, this way, you kind of start fresh. If you continue at the casino you are currently at, you will think, hey whatever, I'm still in the positive and slowly and gradually give it all back. This happens all the time. Transfer the money into a CD and lock it in. Interest rates are pretty high at the moment. Great time to save.

I was with you up until this point. You can recieve a much better return with a carefully selected mutual fund rather than a CD

Silly question Kellye but....

Are you sure he didn't receive the $291k in one cheque and the $4k weekly amounts are to do with this other smaller win?

Only, I was under the impression that Microgaming paid the casino the whole Progressive win amount (collected from all the casinos through "Progressive contributions") and they are supposed to send this to the player as one lump sum, not in installments.

In fact this is the first time I've heard of ANY MG casino paying any win in installments. I thought MG licences were strict in that the licencee had to prove solid financial backing.

But maybe I've had my head in the sand. Wouldn't be the first time :D

It's in their terms:

Old / Expired Link

Players who win a sum that is 5 times, or more, greater than their total purchases across all CasinoRewards partner casinos will only be able to withdraw their winnings at a sum of $4,000 a week.

Pretty stupid, because it means that you will never get paid any decent progressive in less than a year.

I'm still amused by their cheek in doing this - the progressive win doesn't even belong to them, as Microgaming pay it, so they are actually making a profit on it by making it reverseable.

WOW!! what an eye opener..I never looked at it like this. You are right, the casino is making a profit in two ways. Holding on to the money and crossing their fingers, hoping you will reverse and reverse etc. I just realized another thing...He won at Classic Casino, so all his reversals that he looses goes back into their pocket. It is way adventagious for the casino to do this because they wouldv'e never received money like this from him otherwise.

Can a casino put anything they want in their T&Cs? I also noticed down in this section a post that mentioned classic casino was bought out by casino rewards recently and that they didn't honor their obligations to their customers they owed at the time. Does anyone know anything else about this? That could be a real smooth move on a casino's part to get out of paying. Just wondering, if anyone has anymore information on that.

No they can't - and there is something wrong here. Progressive wins are not paid out by the casino - these wins are paid out by a "pot" that each MG casino contributes to. This player should have received this in one lump sum, and not by installments.

I'm checking with MG to find out what is going on.

I am 100% POSITIVE that he is getting a check for 4 thousand every week on the progressive win..I spoke to the casino myself on his behalf when they were on the phone explaining the way they were going to pay it out. When they said $4000 per week, I was floored. But when i tried to argue the point on his behalf all they said is check to t&cs..and it is there. He keeps telling me how nice they are over at casino classic, since his win he has had alot of interaction with them(mostly about reversing his win) LoL. I explained to him "of course they are nice to you. They are loving every minute you are calling asking to give them back more of that money". My brother in law is the type of person who doesn't like to make waves. Especially with a company that is sending him a check for $4000.00 each week. He feels blessed! He doesn't see that he's getting screw...d. I think he is!. One other thing i find interesting about this win is this. The night he won the money he got me out of bed at 4Am to come to his house. He still has the win on his computer. I spoke to the casino myself at that time and they told me he would receive a check for fifty thousand in a few days and then a check for fifty thousand every three days after until he was paid in full. I mentioned this to the person that then told us $4000 each week and pointed us over the t&cs. She just said sorry, you were given wrong information. I am ever so greatfull to all of you here because if not for you all, I would have never realized that this really isnt correct. A progessive win is paid out by all the casinos, unlike a regular win which is paid out by the casino itself. I don't see how casino classic can really do this to him. Casinomeister is doing some checking with MG and I cannot wait to here the outcome..THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!

I think if they want to keep their license, it will be paid in FULL once Bryan sorts it out with MG.

As it was stated previously, they're making a killing on the interest alone letting the money sit in their bank instead of paying it out ASAP like they're supposed to do. I doubt MG will be too happy about that.

Yes, the people who need to know about this know about this, and it's being looked into at this moment.

There is something not right about this. As far as I know, the casino has nothing to do with payment for the progressive win, and this win should have been made in one lump sum.

I'm making further inquires with the casino operator.

Well ...GUESS WHAT??? Casino Classic just called my brother in law and told him that there has been a change in the way they are going to pay him...
They said they are going to pay him out in one lump sum!!! and guess who we have to thank??? The casinomeister!!!!!!! THANK YOU !!!!!
Simply amazing!!!

BIG HUG

Well, as usual, kudos to Bryan for his involvement in making things right. However, the casino seemed to have preyed on the less-informed and used the progressive win funds to bolster their cashflow. Very dodgy tactics and they would have succeeded if the win hadnt been posted in this forum. This casino is possibly one to avoid.

Go to the casinomeister's wish list and ask your brother in law to buy something for him. The interest gained from this huge amount will pay for more than a dozen of those items.

Stunning - I would dearly like to know what went on behind the scenes at Casino Rewards/ITS to trigger this sudden change in policy!

Thanks for the suggestion. I never knew there was a wish list.
