In the process of uploading video's from my old Youtube channel onto my new one, after only finding out yesterday you can download your videos from your video manager.

Starting off with the lower wins.

I do miss this slot, think it was just about the best slot MG ever made.
I think it was a lot better than TDK.

Anyway, heres the first one, sorry for the lag, its what Bandicam used to do to my old laptop.

Some good wins on TS2 to upload as well, when it used to be good lol.

Surely one of the best and most popular at the time Microgaming releases. Nice video.

Too bad, this slot was pull down, I am sure it would still be popular these days.

I never had the good fortune to play this game, as I didn't start out on this online slotting lark on a regular basis until late 2013.

Seems like I missed out on a real gem.

Since Microgaming is in the business of cloning slots these days why can't they do a clone of TLOFR, the first one not the revamped one. That slot would make a lot of players very happy:cool:

They did its called girls with guns.

Unfortunately its crap and to me plays totally different.

No slot will ever replace my all time favourite the original TLOTR

I know but Girls With Guns didn't play like the first TLOTR so they should go back and re-do one just like that. I had a couple of big wins on it nothing major but it was an enjoyable slot and I do miss it:sob:

TBH
I did prefer the progressive version as I had better wins on it, Thanks to Gollum Pulling the wilds down.
I got a £70 odd win as well once on the base game on 30p spin (reels 3,4 & 5 fully wild) and he came on and gave me X3 multiplier.

And look at the shite they churn out nowadays "Cough" Cool Buck "Cough"

Defo, Defo, DEFO THE BEST MG Release EVER, without a doubt!

LOTR (progressive) was on my top 3 goto. TDK was a poor replacement IMO.

AFAIK there is no reason they could not used this game model for a none licensed based slot. As has been said would be popular, 99% sure of that!

I agree, Cant be that hard to change the graphics.

They can just nick the symbols from all thier other slots, like usual

I don't think the gameplay was that exemplary, more a case of a great license and popular theme mixed with great visuals and sound made this so good.

TDK was great too for the same reasons, and I'd play that over any of the subsequent re-skins as they don't do anything for me.

Shame then that both these games don't exist anymore and we're left with Girls with Guns instead, I would have loved LOTR

Apologies for bumping an old thread (about a much older slot (but one that was / is missed)). This may go some way to explaining what happened...

Warner Bros. and Tolkien estate end Lord of the Rings slot game dispute

Entertainment giant Warner Bros. and the estate of British writer and poet JRR Tolkien have brought an end to a five-year court battle relating to the use of the Lord of the Rings brand in gambling games.

The Tolkein Trust had joined forces with publisher Harper Collins and several other parties to launch an US$80m lawsuit back in November 2012 against Warner Bros., the company's subsidiary New Line Productions and rights holder The Saul Zaentz Company.

In court papers filed in California, Warner Bros. was accused of engaging "in a continuing and escalating pattern of usurping rights to which they are not entitled" and "causing irreparable harm to Tolkien's legacy and reputation".

The lawsuit was filed after the plaintiffs discovered that Warner Bros. had begun licensing and distributing gambling games for use online and in land-based casinos, featuring characters and story elements from The Lord of the Rings.

A land-based version of The Lord of Rings slots was developed by WMS Gaming while an online version was developed by Microgaming, both under licence from Warner Bros. Both games were removed from operation as a result of the court case.

After a five-year court battle, the dispute has finally been brought to an end with the two parties amicably resolving their issues and no claims to be pursued.

No further details were divulged in court papers released late last week by the US District Court, Central District of California.

(sorry for linking a subscription site, but haven't found the news anywhere else at this point in time)

I have an old 5 wilds screenshot of this somewhere, gwg just doesn't feel the same, although underneath it is likely identical coding it just felt way more polished as LOTR.

Yep I concur with all, this was by far the best ever MG slot. I totally miss it too, I played it a lot when it was online.

I wish they brought it back or made a slot that is identical to it. The girls with guns version is not the same.

Oh well, thanks for this trip down memory lane OP :)

I never liked this slot.
If my memory serves this came out about the same time as TSII?
I think I found the free games too hard to get on this and I just went and played TSII instead.
