Landbased slots, which are good ones?

I did a test last night and went through some of the slots at the local pressing the information button... That was originally my impression as well, however was surprised to find most of them seemed to be between 90 - 92% with the odd 5c denomination machine coming in at 95%. There were a few 88% machines as well.

See I'm not finding that, I wanted to hope that was going to happen, but even with small wins every now and then, I'm still not doing any better online compared to land based... There's nothing keeping me playing online. Hence the trip to the local.

Is this a pub/club or casino? Pubs and clubs usually have the better RTP's as you will stay longer and buy more beer and food :) (tin foil hats people!!!).

The machines that have the highest RTP are usually those of a bigger denomination 5c-10c-$1 and you know why that is right? but the average in Australia used to be around the 88% mark.

By the way, I am a little out of the loop on land based slots as I play online 90% the time these days, but visited my local a few weeks ago and noticed that they have removed the linked jackpots (Wild Cash) and also drastically reduced some Jackpots like the Aristocrat Hyperlinked Cash Express Train and Jetsetter, this is in Victoria btw

I never thought to check and see if the RTP had remained the same or not, but this maybe a reason they are a bit higher than normal?

Back to the topic at hand, my favourite land based slots used to be Where's The Gold, King of Asia (Choy Son Doa), Wild Panda, 50 Lions, Wolf Run (love anything that has stacked symbols), Lucky 88.

The land based offerings from the designers of the RTG slots are also quite fun and contain 3 tier jackpots, I started playing these a far bit when visiting land based casinos, sorry I can't think of the names now but I do remember Dogboy (cm member) who worked for them.

LOL it's a POKIE DEN! sounds shady dosent it? But yeah you're right, I never thought of it like that :)

I have two of them near me, next time I'll go to the other one and check the RTP on their machines, was just surprising to find most of the machines were set around the 90% mark.

Yeah Australia is TIGHT! Ever been to Crown? Uh-Ohhhh :eek2:

P.s. I agree about the jackpots, only they haven't removed them. Just drastically reduced the chance of them hitting. I love the TRAINS!! I know they are predetermined features, but it's still fun trying to hit the buttons at the right time. Sometimes you can get three trains in a row... Something else that Microgaming is missing is a random Jackpot, where you win something no matter what. Like Money Chimes, or the Trains, or the Horse Races on Kanomi machines.

Some of those are my favorite machines, have you ever tried 1000 pandas? It's a 2c denomination machine, There are 50 lines but I play it when I'm running low and take it down to 25 lines. Gotten some good $50 - $75 hits.

P.p.s Back to the topic at hand :D

How prominent are the Gaminator machines down under? I assume Aristocrat dominate but are Novomatic's common in land-based?

Not prominent at all. Aristocrat takes the lead as they are an Australian based company. Most of the games at my local pokie den (lol!) are Aristocrat, around about ten Kanomi games, and a few IGT.

Australia dosent have allot of games that are available in other areas of the world, like the the Wizard of Oz or Monopoly slots (both of which I'd really like to play). We are way behind. Microgaming slots are awesome, I'd never dispute that. They really have the fun part down pat (Gold Factory comes to mind).

P.s. Aristocrat games are actually my favorite. Other brands just lack in that psychologically rewarding manner addicts seem to love! Personally for me the rewarding feeling adds to the fun of the game, which can also be seen on video games that reward trophies for completing different tasks.

Hi Rebecca,

sounds very good, unfortunately i can only play Novomatic slots in landbased casinos, because Switzerland is not allowed to play Novomatic at Quasargaming and other sites... WMS and NOVOMATIC are the only brands we can't play online, don't know why...

Thanks anyways,
Hoff
