I'm fairly new to online gambling but luckily I found Casnomeister
right off so haven't made any big mistakes so far! My question,
I usually download a casino and play for fun before I deposit.
I have read that there should be no difference in winning in
either fun or real mode but my experience tells me that there
is a difference. As soon as I deposit, the hot casino becomes
very cold! Time after time I have noticed this. I deposit in
the reputable casinos and mostly microgaming. What do ya
think???

I also play for fun at any given casino to see if I like the games and if I do, I then switch to real money play.

I have noticed I play differently in fun mode vs real mode :what: and try not to do this once I invest a few dollars and it seems to work well for me.

I slip up  once in a while thinking "this is REAL money" and change my play, but then I go back to my "fun" mode style for the real deal :D and I have cashed out quite a few times some nice big pots. :D :D
Hope this helps!

That's why it's called gambling. A hot casino can go cold, just like a cold casino can become hot. Everything is controlled by a random number generator, fun or real has no bearing on that.

There are some places where the fun play is set a bit looser - those will be places that run free games on the same principle as pogo does, where you can win things playing for free. Usually then they have a different version of the games in free play to be able to hand out more prizes.

If the site does not have prizes for free play, the settings are supposed to be the same.

One is tempted to play more expansively in free mode though, and that can lead to higher wins.

And yes, the games run hot and cold....

I know for a fact that the RNG used in Cryptologic is different. This is because you can run the software offline in play mode.

Also I tried out some software (some roulette thing) which can predict the next 100 or so outcomes (red or black) after you input the first 10 or so spins.

BUT no surprises, it only works in play mode. So the creator of the software managed find out the algorithm in the play mode RNG and made the software and duped a few users to part with their money even before they played the casino.

And no surprises, it didn't work in Real mode.
