Is Banksy the greatest living artist?

I love Banksy because of his humor and his ability to capture a moment in time. For me he is the UK's greatest living artist. I see very little merit in an unmade bed.

Who do you think is the greatest living artist of any description? Who is the greatest ever artist?

I like this guys stuff, Alexey Chernigin, for a classic painter although this ones not a classic subject...........

This guy who Kroffe might know is a great living contemporary artist.........Simon Stalenhag......from Sweden

There are so many great artists around now and i dont know much but i studied a bit of history of art and for me the greatest would be Michaelangelo. A great artist and sculptor.

Always some amazing pieces with new uploads daily from a decent community to be found on Deviant Art.com.

I guess it all depends on your take on art. Everything in most walks of life can be an art form to me.

James Joyce writing Ulysees,
A painting by picasso,
A melody by Mozart.
Federer on a tennis court,
AP McCoy on a NH horse,
Tiger woods with a golf club.


All walks of life bring all types and kinds of art.

Banksy is gifted at what he does. It is entirely relative and subjective though to each individual who or what is a great artist.


I have respect for them all with the exception of the absolute thunderc**t who designed Stakelogic's gaming software. Who ever he or she is has missed the mark badly

But i agree that his art is cool.
Wouldnt mind taking him in as a paint3d student.

I thought this stunt by Banksy was pretty great.
But as the video says, it probably only made the painting more valuable.
Should have set fire to it instead.

Well that opens things up a bit
I'm no expert on art and it is a very subjective subject. I love my own particular types of classical music but I can go for years without listening to it then spend a week only listening to it!
