Good day everyone,

I think I made a brief introductory post in a generic introduction thread right after signing up. Here is a more official introduction as I learn to use the forum.

I started developing an interest in gambling a little over a year ago ... somewhat from a statistical point of view. During that time, I have been getting acquainted with the various games with online casinos, one land based casino, and a couple of apps. It has been quite a ride. I seem to do well with the table games (not so well with slots). I also seem to do well in tournaments - which is probably where I have spent a lot of time.

By the way, my assessment so far is that most betting systems take on too much risk ... slow and steady is much better. Seriously, a golden rule of gambling is do not chase lost money ... but one of the first things they introduce you to is the Martingale system which ends up risking large amounts of money for that little bit lost at the beginning. Bad strategy.

Anyway, I feel I am ready to exit the novice/beginner stage and start doing this more seriously as a hobbyist ... so I thought it was time to join a community that supports such endeavors. Thanks for having me.

As long as I never forget that there is no way to beat the house in the long-term and that gambling is just for fun, I enjoy it, too.

Using different statistical strategies for limited amounts of time AND on lucky days has occasionally served me well, but I am reminded again and again lol that the house always wins.
