Hi all,

Just a quick post to inform you that CATS™ - brand new 30 paylines slot game from the IGT/Wagerworks stable - is now live at Virgin Casino.

Like most Wagerworks game, CATS™ is the online version of IGT's eponymous land based video slot:

Aha, hi there Pierrick, I didn`t know there were Virgin reps here ;).

I would like to ask a question and i`m sure a few others here would like to know the answer (if possible lol), before I ask I will stress that I am not making accusations against Virgin, far from it, I have had no problems with them whatsoever and some great cashouts with them also,:).

Sorry for the derail but here`s my question... A few weeks ago a few of us noticed that when playing slots at MGS casinos, if you had the stats window open just as the next spin began, it would register the next win before the reels had started to spin, this anomaly was assessed to be above board as the next spin is calculated before the spin, and the reel strips are just there for show, now there is probably a reasonable answer for this question....

As you guys have a lot of MGS slots at your casino, why is it that yours do not do this, but wait instead to register the win in stats as soon as the reels stop?, which to all intent imho is exactly how it should be.

Once again my apologies for the derail :).

Hi Seventh777,

I believe it's related to integration models, i.e. how Virgin games pulls out game data from external suppliers into our unified in-house wallet system.

Because we only serve the games and don't use MG wallet, the two way communication system between MGS and VG servers re. game outcome might explain the (justified) delay.

The way other operators integrate and display MG data I cannot comment on, it all depends on their setup.

That's what I think is happening, but I'm no expert. I can try to find out more for you if needed, even though the difference is surely only cosmetic.

The movement of the reels in an online slot is purely a client-side animation. The moving reels are just an animation in a loop displayed for a fixed duration, or until the spin result comes back from the server, whichever takes longer.

The 'reels' do not ever actually move, the server just generates a random number corresponding to a position on the reels, and sends this to the client.

As soon as you send the request to spin the reels, the server decides the result of that spin. It sends this back to the client immediately, but the client is programmed to show animations and graphics to make the game more appealing, so you don't actually see the result of the spin immediately, but after a delay of a second or so.

I have to say this game annoyed me not because its a bad game but because its exactly the same as Noah's Ark except the symbols are different it even uses the same sound effects.

Its so annoying that game makers like IGT and MG just recycle the same games the lack of imagination and innovation is appalling.
