Editor's note: I know this is a super old thread, but to close Neteller is relatively easier than it was years ago. Just go your settings, and click the link to close your account. Simple as that. You can also search here for more information about Neteller.

Figured since I can no longer use Neteller for casino deposits and reading about all the horror stories here, I decided to close my account. Logged in to my Neteller account and looked for the link to close my account. Checked every conceivable tab and every option on every page and there seems to be no way to close my account?!

Maybe I'm just dense and missed it. Does anyone know how to close a Neteller account online? Seems ridiculous to not have a way to do that. I'm not going to do it via emailing support as email is not encrypted and I'd rather not have to call and deal with someone whining for me to please stay even though I have no further use for it as per their decision to not allow payments to gaming sites from US accounts....

Thanks in advance,

-Riff

Ok, i didn't found any link to close NETeller account.
And if no phone call or no email... there is a (secure) live chat.
...but their assistants  *sigh* and Cheers

If nothing... just modify your contact details. ;)

I closed mine successfully by emailing them with my account number and full contact information. It took ~48 hours.

I'll leave my account open. You never know, maybe I'll become an expat like Bryan someday.:)

Just open a live chat and ask them to close your account. They will ask you loads of questions but will do what you ask in the end. Closed mine just a moment ago. :) Best of luck!

With all the stuff going on, I assumed you waited about 30+ minutes for a rep? :D

I seriously doubt they will ever return to the US market, so there's really no sense in leaving it open.

No, they responded within 2 mins or so! Maybe its because I am in the Isle of Man but they were good! Gave them 3.89 for the pleasure as well :)

Dont really Play anymore to be honest, have no cards after 5 card frauds in 2006 and I am trying to buy an old house to convert to three flats, need 300,000 for that at least over here :eek2: Just have no use for them anymore.

Feel bad in some ways as they are based over here but just felt it was a good Idea one less company to bone my bank account!

:) :) I too closed my account via email with account information included. It also took less than 48 hours. This was they way they instructed me to correspond with them regarding account inquiries so I figured it would work with closing it. It did!

If you change your address they will lock your account until they talk to you to verify certain information. The next transaction attempt will fail. Unless something has changed, you are able to change your address by logging in and going to the correct tab.

Why is anyone closing their Neteller account?
It's not like they send snail-mail or anything.
Just withdraw your money & leave it.

If I was a gambling man  I would bet that Neteller & online casinos will be available to USA citizens again by this time next year....

Why did I close mine? I don't want the DoJ going through and noticing my open account. Sure, it's still on record with Neteller, but not active.

I'm sure they'd find that "probable cause" to think that I was still gambling online. I think once they get through with the big fish, they're going to go after individuals, just like the RIAA did not too long ago, even going as far as suing grandmas and KIDS for downloading music.

Brings back memories of my old Enterprise ISP account playing Quake with a bunch of your fellow Islanders on dialup - ah memories :)

:) Used to play Quake a lot when I was with Enterprise... Not much to do over here so Quake was always a good way to pass the time. Then.. I found the pub :D

Just sent them an email this morning asking to close my account. With all the grief people are giving them looking for their money, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't respond too quickly, but will post here again once I hear from them.

Good news is I didn't have any money in the account when the proverbial shit hit the fan as I always used InstaCash for deposits (Casino's paid the Neteller fees that way), and my last withdrawal was over a month ago.

Thanks,

-Riff
