How are Casino's audited?

First of all, I am pretty new to this forum and need to find my way around (as you can see from my post count), so I hope I'm putting this in the correct section etc.... I do think it's important to play by forum rules because a lot of time and effort goes into creating these communities which a lot of people, myself included find extremely valuable.

I wanted to ask a question about the auditing procedure of casino's. The reason I ask this question is less about me trusting them (Casinomeister's list is going to be OK obviously, you are pretty safe with big name software etc) and more about a curiosity that has grown from a significant number of comments about bwin casino or Chartwell software. Players report long "streaks" while playing blackjack.

Does anybody have any opinions as to whether this is true or is it just natural, mathematical variance?

Personally, I wouldn't be able to comment whether a RNG could possibly have a bug in it. For instance, I do some hobbyist Java programming, and you can code random number generation into Java by entering some code. But by doing so you are "instructing" Java to generate a random number - the specific alogrithm it uses to do that - I don't know. Like I say, I am a hobbyist and the real in depth stuff is still a but of a mystery to me :D

So anyway - I read all these comments, and my next thought was to see if I could find the audited results. But, the thing is, some people will play blackjack to basic strategy, whilst some will just play anyhow, so surely that would have an effect on the results.

Any opinion on the plethora of comments regarding this casino and the chartwell software?
