Are the odds of winning higher when low rolling ?

I have on a few occasions played $5 a spin and have never been able to reach a balance of more than my original deposit, subsequently I have played between 25cents and a $1 and have done very well on numerous occasions.

Is it just my bad luck when High rolling or do the odds of winning actually change depending on bet size? Thanks:)

The chance of winning is supposed to be the same whatever line bet you have. :)

At Microgaming there is absolutely no doubt of this. It feels like the bet size doesn't matter at all.

At RTG I can win 1000x my betsize with lowrolling but I haven't been able to do so with higher bets.

This is of course in free spins and I am not sure of how independent each spin is at free spins.

But, the main conclusion is that if you believe in the software beeing totally random it doesn't matter which bet size you have.

I think it's just a question of variance - your experience could have been the opposite if you had hit something substantial on your $5 spins.

In my experience the odds are the same. The point is that everything averages out in the long run, so you would expect to get closer to the average after 5000 spins then after 1000 - the same number of spins you get for $5000 on $1 per spin and $5 per spin respectfully.

Hope that made sense. :)

Just for the record: I was in no way encouraging $5 bets over $1 bets. Remember that (given that you get the same odds) you are going to lose money at 5 times the rate. :eek2:

If you get your thrill "low-rolling" - don't up your bet!

Clearly understood- Although I still get a thrill at low rolling, the thrill factor is enhanced playing at a higher bet LOL. Dont worry i still wont bet more than I can afford to lose. Thanks again for your input  Cheers !!

I don't know if it's luck or not but I find that whenever I break the 1 dollar per spin barrier I start crapping out. I was playing that RTG mermaid game last night for 2 dollar spins and it was almost 300 spins before a bonus feature. The bonus feature paid about 60 bucks. I can get that on a quarter sometimes. Hidden Riches was the same. Another 300 spins at least and the bonus paid 70 bucks. That's after about 600 dollars in wagers. I had bonus after bonus at 1 dollar and once I jacked it up to 2 bucks the bonuses disappeared. Same thing happened with MG. 1 dollar did fine. 2 dollars I couldn't hit a bonus feature to save my life. Of course I haven't done this often enough to know if it was just luck on those spins but it has made me suspicious about wagering over a dollar a spin.

This is exactly what was happening with me, hence my question here. I would like see more input on this from other players. Mean while I will try a bit of experimenting and share my own results when I have them. Thanks for your input

When Lucky Red came out (I think that's the name..the Club World one)..anyway, I took the 400% bonus and deposited $100. I normally do $1 a spin. Played that thing forever getting bonus rounds but as normal after a day it started eating the money. There was about $50 left and I let my husband have it. He tried a few spins on Aztec Riches ($5 a spin minimum) and hit the ladies for $1250. After that it was T-Rex at I think $4 a spin and hit $1200 in the bonus round (had been playing the day before a zillion spins and couldn't hit anything), went to Crystal Waters and got the bonus round at $5 a spin and hit a bunch of dolphins with turtles I think for about $2200. Managed to get through the playthrough and cashed out about $3800. There was a max cashout on that promo anyway of $4000. Now, other than a RJ at Jackpot Capital I have NEVER done that well at RTG.

I have a tendency to "test the waters" so to speak with $1 spins but most of the time if I hit something substantial I kick myself knowing what it would have paid if I were betting higher. I honestly don't know if it makes a difference...I think it boils down to what you feel most comfortable with

I had many occasions with RTG when i was doing fine betting $1 then upped my bet to $2 just to start losing fast. I had lost of great hits with 25c bets but not as many with $1 even thought i dont play 25c very often - may be it just my luck. But i do remember casinojack posted some screenshots that showed that rtg software allows to set RPT depending on the bet size.

This is what normally happens with RTG after you up your bet. I had one exception to this. I had been betting $1.25 and getting my butt kicked on Mystic Dragon. I came home from work and logged in the next day. I had $150 left of my original $500 bank roll, so I said hell with it, I'm either gonna win or lose, but I'm not going to sit here all night lowrolling and getting ground out. I upped the bet to $12.50, firguring if I get anything it will be good, or I will simply bust and just go do something else. On the very FIRST SPIN.....I got 5 volcanos. That's 100 free spins. When the bonus round was over my balance was $12,500! :D

In the last 3 months I have made only one deposit with RTG casinos and I lowrolled for 3 days on a $52 deposit and $104 bonus. I made playthrough, but not with enough to cashout, due to the bonus being non cashable.

What I have been experimenting with lately is betting in fun mode with large per line bets, but minimal lines. I have clobbered on Crystal Waters, Gold Beard, Realm of Riches and Warlocks Spell. I'm convinced that I will make more money this way than betting all the lines at a smaller line bet. I have to admit it's tough watching decent wins go by the wayside this way and it takes longer to hit something, but when I do it's a whopper. My next real money deposit will be played this way. I might try betting $1 per line x 3lines on Fruit Frenzy, since when you do hit a bonus round it will play at $25 per spin. That is the only game I know of that gives you back all the other lines in the bonus round. I will also add that when I play in this manner, I frequently get disconnected by the administrator, as though they are discouraging this type of play. Normally when the casino doesn't like something, it must be advantageous to the player. ;)

I just played a 50 dollar free chip at Betphoenix. I started with 1 dollar bets playing Diamond Dozen and managed to get my balance up to 220. I raised my bet to 2 dollars and watched my balance drop all the way to 25 without a bonus feature. I dropped my bet back to 1 dollar and hit a bonus feature 3rd spin.

If that's a coincidence, you decide.

By the way. Not hitting bonus features or bonus features that pay 2 bucks seems to be becoming a habit at Betphoenix. I cashed out there a few deposits ago and all I do is dump money since. Seems the free chips are the only thing you can hit anything with. And that was gone long before I cleared the WR.

I play 5 lines with Fruit Frenzy sometimes but still bet only a few coins. If you bet 3 lines at a dollar a spin you'll probably be a thousand dollars before you make a line of 5 symbols straight across one of those 3 lines. Even at 5 lines it takes forever to hit a bonus feature on that game. It's not a matter of hitting 3 scatters. Those 5 of a kind don't line up very often and when they do it's usually in the 10th line or up.

Playing like that does not give you any advantage of change the RTP - it just increases the variance;
i.e. You will get less wins than playing max lines, but they will be proportionally bigged compared to your total bet.

On Fruit Frenzy the bonus is triggered by a 5 of-a-kind on a win line, not by scatters, so playing 25 lines will make triggering the bonus round 25 times more likely than playing 1 line.
That's why the value of the spins in the bonus round is the same regardless of how many lines you play.

very funny, because the same always happens to me, so i'll never play more then $1 per spin, because all about went always so fast on RTG casinos, but it's certainly only random ;)

Not trying to refute you but I played $0.20 per spin at Daimond Dozen with the Betphoenix $50 chip and my balance went striaght down to 0 with only a couple of bonus rounds paying next to nothing. I couldnt even raise my bets to $0.40 per spin lol.

50 bucks is usually enough to play a buck a spin on Diamond Dozen. If I have less than 25 I'll play .40 and won't play .20 unless I'm almost broke. I'll never play 2 bucks again. lol

i hate Diamond Dozen. Every time i play it it takes all my money. Tried again after reading your message, lost 90 bucks at 1$ bet and no bonus, not even the white diamond one that usially gives me 6 or 8 bucks.
Am i so unlucky? :(

no, but you're really wondering, why you have zero playtime at this low amount and this high bet size?

that's the same, if you will make only a $18 deposit and bet with 20 cent per spin, since you can even have with a $50 deposit and 20 cent spins no playtime and no bonus round on RTG slots, i really don't wonder, that your money doesn't last that long ;)

I'm in with eu_lowroller here. He has infact found the perfect solution for all those who thinks that their money is gone quicker these days. It's just to deposit more from the beginning.

No problem at all. :D

The issue is fixed.
