Having problems playing at RTG casinos....

Is anybody else having problems playing at RTG casinos? I am having the same problems at every RTG casino that I have downloaded, real money or play money, so I think maybe it is a problem on my end. I have had this problem since Wednesday.

If I'm playing video poker there is a horribly long lag in between hitting the deal button and getting dealt my cards...and again a lag when I try to collect my win. Sometimes I have to log out of the game and log back in to see what the results are for that hand.

If I'm playing the Real Series Slots, the reels just spin and spin FOREVER before finally landing. And again, sometimes I have to log out of the game and log back in to get the reels to stop spinning.

I have tried uninstalling every RTG casino and reinstalling...still the same problem.

Just curious if its just me or is anybody else having this kind of problem too. Maybe some suggestions on how to fix the problem (whatever it may be!).

If your computer is running normal for other programs and loading websites/etc as fast as usual for you, then it's just a simple problem of the Internets Tubes being clogged up between you and the casino(s)...

edit: I think all of the RTG casino servers are located on the same network, so that would make perfect sense..

It appears that some websites aren't loading as quickly as ususal, but then others load just fine. I really think that I have a problem with my puter somewhere...I have tried everything that I can think of to fix the lag in play at RTG casinos but nothing has worked. UGH! I'm not talking about just a few seconds of lag, the lag can last minutes...or until I log out of the game and log back in.

It sounds like a connection issue to me. Do you use a router and if so have you tried resetting it?

Did you shut the router off first and then shut your computer down? Then while your computer is shut off restart your router. Once the router has reconnected to the internet then restart your computer. :)

Followed your instructions to a T and still have the same issues. Open to more suggestions.

Just went to play at All Slots Casino, and the reels just spin and spin. So it obviously isn't just a problem with RTG casinos, definitely a problem with my puter or connection or something.

Well, aside from doing a defrag, Windows Update scan, virus/spyware scan and registry clean, I would suggest upgrading your RAM memory capacity. I used to have a number of computer issues, like slowness and hangups, until I installed more memory. I had a pathetic 256MB of RAM and I upgraded to 4GB. Big improvement! You might want to try this website: www.crucial.com They will scan your computer and offer suggestions for upgrading your computer.

I've had RTG casinos lag like this many times. Sometimes the reels spin for minutes before stopping and sometimes I just disconnect from the casino.

I don't think the problem has ever even been me because I can download at high speeds, jump from webpage to webpage and chat with no problems and my non internet related programs work fine but all the while these slots just spin and spin.

I've contacted a few different casinos and they always tell me something silly like to reboot. Only one time did a casino ever admit to having a problem. (I think it was Rushmore but I don't really remember.)

Usually I just quit and try again later. One time I just kept letting it spin in auto play while I did other things and it actually got faster over time and returned to normal on it's own.

Personally I just think the casino just get way too busy and the slots spin endlessly waiting for a response from the server.

I often have this slowness at rushmore casinos while casinos from other groups are ok. I hate playing like that because seem like nothing lines up and my money goes down the drain.

Everything goes down the drain. My wagers, my hair, the lid off the toothpaste, my pen light... (I was looking for the other stuff... Don't ask.)

Hi Auntie,

Have you got other programs opened that is also taking up bandwidth?.

Look at the bottom right corner of your computer sreen and you will see a few programs in ther. What are they?- there may be an application in there that is also using the net.

Right mouse click on these applications and click "close" this will close all those apps down and then try logging in. Dont log in and then close them.

If you have automatic download on for windows, close this off as it takes up a heap of bandwidth also.

Trial and error really, close some apps down and then log in and see how you go.

Mate I use msn a bit and if you are on there I dont mind chattign with you to sort it out.

Okay, here is what I have learned. If I play during the day (my time), the games lag horribly. After 11:00 p.m. or so (my time), everything plays fine. As I stated before, this "lag" started on Wednesday. Before that, everything played fine.

By the way, I'm running Windows Vista and have 3 GB of RAM and my computer is about 6 months old.

Is it a problem with my ISP? Or a problem between me and the casinos?

All I know is that it is very frustrating and sure doesn't make my playtime very enjoyable...although a small deposit lasted me hours (only because the reels just spin and spin and never land!)

Thank you to all who have tried to help.

Is your connection via cable? Keep in mind that with cable internet, you're sharing your bandwidth with the rest of your immediate neighborhood...

But since it's set to a somewhat specific time, then yes, it sounds like a network issue and there's really nothing you can do about it..whether it's because of your ISP, one inbetween you and the casino, or the casino network itself..

I had the same problem. I found out that there were 5 other wireless houses door to door right on my street within a week. (New install in our area for months and no one came online but me for a long time) I called my provider and complained about the bandwidth in our area being overloaded and asked them to up it due to so many coming online in such a short time. They did and I haven't had a problem since.

It took 3 demands because they said I didn't know what I was talking about but I fooled them.. I gave them the times it would slow to a crawl and made them pull up our area records and sure enough, they said we did have some "congestion" during those times. Don't take no for an answer because they know you are having a problem and you should have it fixed, because you are paying for it!

.

Yep, cable connection.

That's why....As silcnlayc mentioned, I'd call them up, and complain....I'd take about a week and write down precisely which days/hours it's really slow, and let them go from there...

Also, do you have a wireless router? If so, make sure that you have the security enabled on it so that nobody is leeching off of your connection if they're close enough to you...

I did call and complain...they had me try several different things, and run a speedtest (approx. 3 mbps), and then told me everything was fine. If the problem persists that I could bring in my router and exchange it for a new one to see if that fixed the problem.

Hey everyone,

If anyone is having these problems playing at our RTGs, please make sure to contact me with all of your details so that we can get this looked in to. I'll need to know which casino you are playing at, your casino username, what time/date this happened and an explanation of what happened also. If you can get screenshots then that will help also if you are receiving error messages etc. I can give you my personal email address via PM so you can get those sent to me also.

Thanks,

Louise

3mb/s?? If you use Comcast, their minimum package is 6mb....I'd be irate if I only got 3mb...:o

I did all that too. You have to be very tenecious and keep complaining and if you set your computer right you can see how many are on the network and then you can tell them. Thats how I found out how many new accounts were on my street. They finally gave in once I told them this. I do have mine secured.

There is something wrong with your firewall or router settings. Maybe before wednesday you download a program which cause this trouble now. You always restore to an earlier date :)

Good Luck

I really wish people would actually take the time and read every post in these threads before commenting....no disrespect, but this just muddles up everything.

If you'd notice the latter posts, this slowdown occurs at specific times, so indeed there is nothing wrong with either their firewall or router settings.

It's a bandwidth issue, plain and simple..

I have had the same problem with RTG's and Vegas Technology for a year or more. Vegas Tech is only certain games which happen to be the newer ones. Go figure. I've had every kind of connection available in my area and it didn't seem to make any difference. Had an old emachine and figured it was just that- old. Then 2 months ago got a whole new system and couldn't wait to try the laggers out. Still lagged. I've just decided it is the casino and nothing I can do. They've given me lists of things to do to clean all the right stuff but to no avail. Then when the Turbo spin came in at RTG's I thought good, everyone had the same problem. Boy was I wrong on that one, the little money sucker. Think I'll stick with the laggers.
Oh and p.s. - with my brand new computer, I have no audio at MG's only. What the hell is that about? It use to be so easy....sigh.....

Can you tell me how to tell how many are on the network? My wireless router is secure also.

I don't seem to be having problems with any websites just the RTG casinos...Between 11 pm and 1 am everything returns to normal (reels spin and stop like they are supposed to, video poker deals hands as it is supposed without looooong delays), But from 10 am up until 11 pm or later, they lag HORRIBLY!! This happens with every RTG that I have installed (Inet, Club World, Aladdin's Gold, Lucky Red, Rushmore and Bodog). I do notice the lag a bit while playing the MG casinos, but its not as bad as it is with the RTGs.

HI Auntie,

It sounds like the same issue I have when I play computer games.

On the weekends my service provider changes servers so it can handle more of a load from clients as it is a weekend a more people are logged on. I noticed this as when I was playing my ping was a good 100 higher than it should be. I had to contact my service providerand find someone who was savvy to tell me this. This server is located in Adelaide(australia) which is 1600 kilometres away from me- when this happens websites and online games are pretty slow. the reason for this is the amount of time it takes to send the inforamtion all that way. it goes from the server in my town to another town halfway then to the Adelaide server which makes it really slow.

Weekday's are another story, they change the servers over again and this time I go through another town which is only 1000 kilometres from my house so websites etc are very fast as well as my gaming.

There is a few ways to find this out. First you need to find out what your upload/download rate is on these peak times

Just open your network icon and highlight your wireless (if that is what you have) and on the left, double click view networks. This should bring up who is on the the network as you are. I usually show about 5-6 on my block....this was how I convinced my isp that we had issues. See screenshots. You can also dbl click the wireless ( or the hardwired if that is what you are) icon , then choose the button on the bottom that says view network..

There is a button you can check that notifies you when someone comes online...this was another thing I did, to track the usage in my neighborhood that helped. to convince my cable company we had issues.

I got the names of the others on my bandwidth and it finally convinced my provider I wasn't too dumb..:D
